Spotted 🚨 Sun in the UK!! A few weeks back our Madlugger Alice soaked up the English sun with her Roll Top backpack. "What a comfy bag with plenty of room for all the layers needed when on holiday in Britain" #madlug #rolltop #England #staycation #makeadifference

The NHS may be broken, according to @UKLabour @wesstreeting, but here’s how to fix it. Prevention, Prevention, Prevention, Prevention…. 1. Prevent poverty. It’s the single biggest determinant of ill health, and health and social care demand, both now and in the future. Blair and Brown made good progress in reducing it. So it can be done. 2. Prevent illness, with a relentless focus on living well, self-care, mental health support and tackling the commercial determinants of illness. Dental disease is the commonest cause of childhood operations, and yet it’s almost 100% preventable. 3. Prevent existing risks and diseases getting worse, with evidence-based screening and a substantial shift in resources to primary, community and social care 4. Preventing waste and medical harm, by ensuring patients receive the right care, in the right place, from the right people at the right time. This is the toughest nut to crack, as it requires adequate numbers of well trained and well rested staff working in safe, clean environments with the right equipment. We currently spent three times as much litigating harms from maternity care than we do on maternity care. This is a permanent disaster and would be a very good place to start. Instead of repeating our mistakes, we need to learn from them. My old friend @SuellaBraverman has described rough sleeping as a 'lifestyle choice' I always thought lifestyle choices were things such as cargo pants, fishing and decorating your bathroom with a bowl of potpourri. I want to see if this image I found on google described as 'Wooden Botanical Fragrant Potpourri Bowl With Lemon' can raise £50,000 for homelessness charity @crisis_uk Donate here: instagram.com/p/CzPTaJzIK4M/…

At 16, I was placed in a bedsit with two older men who were both alcoholics. The place was dangerous and unsuitable for a 16 year old boy leaving care and starting an independent life. No one listened when I begged for somewhere safe to live. I ended up falling behind on my bills because I had no money or support, and before I knew it, I was homeless. That's how quickly it can happen, and you have no control over it whatsoever. It is not a lifestyle choice. @SuellaBraverman

Sleeping on the streets is not a lifestyle choice. We don’t have nearly enough affordable homes & rents are soaring, leaving people destitute and forced to sleep rough. [🧵1/4] ft.com/content/ccf9c2…

What a disgusting government we have. And she - deliberately - seeks to be the most disgusting of all of them. Because that is how to become leader when Sunak is gone. Awful awful people wrecking a once great country.
Suella Braverman@SuellaBraverman

The British people are compassionate. We will always support those who are genuinely homeless. But we cannot allow our streets to be taken over by rows of tents occupied by people, many of them from abroad, living on the streets as a lifestyle choice. 1/4

If you are on duty at the school gate you have the opportunity to be a safety anchor for children who have lived toxic stress. This transition is significant. Be mindfully present and focussed. Connect with each and every child as they go through. Neuroception matters. #Aces
