Do people prefer content written by ChatGPT or Bard?  We had ChatGPT create 1000 articles on various topics. We then gave Bard the same instructions on the same topics. In total, we created 2000 pieces of content with AI. 1000 from ChatGPT. 1000 from Bard. When then paid people to read the articles (we didn’t tell them they were written by AI) based on their interests. In total 249 articles were read from ChatGPT and the 249 counterpart versions from Bard. We then asked which one they preferred. Here are the results.  75.51% of the time people prefer Bard articles. 24.49% of the time people preferred the articles written by ChatGPT.

I’m incredibly lucky to be part of an industry and workplace with (union won!) parental leave that means that today is day one of three months as full-time dad to our ten-month old kiddo. So in all likelihood your email will not find me during this time lol

ChatGPT isn't adapted for academic research. It frequently gives false references. Use Bing Chat instead, it's connected to internet and gives sources. Here's how to use Bing Chat for academic purposes (free):

I wonder how long it will take for generative AI to enter the next cycle of video game development. Imagine Fortnight, but you can invent your own weapons, Grand Tourismo and you can create your own car customizations. This seems like a super fun opportunity.

@amandanat At @Swinburne the primary carer gets 14 weeks at full pay and 38 at 0.6 Secondary carer gets 4 weeks at full pay but can also take over as primary anytime in the first year. For both my kids I did 4 weeks on full pay at birth then another 10 weeks full pay around 9 months old

What is your company's parental leave policy? Curious what's normal (and perhaps, not so normal) these days as we formalize a policy at SparkToro. 🙂

@jdosmith @JonesOnTheNBA The high chair in pic one is one of the best products I bought for my kid. It cost like $24, took under 5 minutes to assemble, and is rock-solid. I'm a snotty anti-consumer that hates everything, but I'd jump in front of a bus for that thing. Invaluable.
