@CatherineKingMP @Bowenchris For anyone interested in actual details rather than a beat up by vested interests.. the proposed exemption is effectively for 6 months (not years..). 3.5t+ vehicles haven't been required to report CO2 data so they can't be assessed in NVES without it. Will be sorted by 2026.

And govt intends to include large 3.5t+ utes by 2026, giving them an extra 6 months (once penalties begin) to comply and get their emissions data sorted. A pragmatic + reasonable approach given the mess they've had to clean up in Aus transport policy @CatherineKingMP @Bowenchris
