@MdBreathe I am a pediatrician that had COVID in July 2020. I spent 2 weeks on ECMO and 2 months in the ICU. Every nurse and MD put on protective gear and examined me. Once in the LTAC I was not always examined by a doctor or mid level on a daily basis

Those of you hospitalized for COVID, did a doctor examine you daily? Just saw a patient who spent 5 days at Houston Methodist for COVID and she said a doctor never listened to her lungs.

Long covid has ruined my life. I was 21 when i got ill,now i'm 23. I was a sport science major and i loved powerlifting and bodybuilding(still do). I had a mild initial case. Then i kept getting worse. I am afraid i will never live again and i'm losing my youth day by day./

@MissMia1988 Covid has destroyed my ability to breathe or talk normally. The shortness of breath makes everything I do a struggle.

@readingswan @Covid19Long @POTUS So sorry for your loss. I was infected July 2020 and my life has changed forever. There are heroes all over who continue to fight this virus and heroes at home that make it possible. His sacrifice shows his dedication to caring for others. That spirit unites us all.

21 Months ago this brave #HealthcareHero was exposed to #COVID19 at the hospital he worked at. 20 months ago I lost him. I struggle with the fact that his sacrifice doesn’t seem to matter to many. @POTUS can you please acknowledge these heroes and the families they left behind?

@_BarringtonII Can be life altering. More likely if severe initial illness but can also happen to those not ever hospitalized. Symptoms include brain fog, shortness of breath, joint pain, fatigue, heart issues and many more. Different for every patient but definitely affects quality of life.

@_BarringtonII Also known as longhauler or post acute covid. It is when people continue to have symptoms more than 3 months after initial infection. Their health does not recover to the condition they were in prior to illness.Estimated 10-30% become long COVID. Symptoms vary greatly.

How it started. How it’s going. One year ago this crew welcomed me home after 2 months in the ICU. Couldn’t stand long enough to shower. Now back at work. So blessed to live. I survived #COVID19 but my life will never be the same #LongHaulCovid #BTHOcovid

One year ago today my patients started a get well wall. It has been a long road back. So blessed by God to recover. Thanks to my family, staff, doctors and especially all the patients and friends who prayed for my recovery. The power of prayer is real. #Bthocovid #LongHaulCovid

@nordm @_BarringtonII My mistake. Gonna blame it on the brain fog from being a longhauler or perhaps need better glasses to see the commas.

@DrJeffSmith @_BarringtonII No it hasn't, you're spreading disinformation. You're off by more than 2 orders of magnitude, that's more than a factor of 100 in case you don't know what orders of magnitude means. People generally don't do well with big numbers, the US has about 340 million people total.

Is it the covid that has caused harm or did it pull back the veil to expose how unhealthy we are as a nation?
TOP Pediatrics@DrJeffSmith

@_BarringtonII At the peak of the polio epidemic in1952 there were 57,000 cases in the US with 3145 deaths. COVID-19 has caused much more harm.

@Charmingbadguy @_BarringtonII Yeah. My bad. Googled the wrong info. My mistake. But enjoyed the conversation. Didn’t mean to taint the discussion. Was an honest mistake

@_BarringtonII Covid does cause the deaths. Certainly the more comorbidities you have the worse prognosis. But completely healthy people have died from Covid. These deaths occur in other nations that have overall better health.
