Looking at an elementary geography text from the 1920s, it’s remarkable how human-oriented it is.
Today you would get earth science, landforms, and a chapter on climate change.
Instead, this book tells about human beings around the world: how they live and what they do. I find it beautiful

One of my favorite lecture series to listen to was Leonard Peikoff’s The History of Philosophy, so I was ecstatic to find out Amanda had a tape set of the missing second half of the series that goes from Kant to Rand. I’m so excited to listen to it!

@CountLatah I just read a book about how FDR supported the Soviet Union during the Terror and sent a Stalin fan-boy to be ambassador, who gave moral legitimacy to show trials. YOU MUST READ THIS BOOK. It’s gripping. It features an evil president, ambassador, journalist plus more.

Looking back, you could absolutely not argue Biden was one of the “most progressive” presidents.
The hysteria about how sitting presidents are the worst thing ever is so exaggerated and historically ignorant that it is amazing we let “experts” on politics get away with it.
