@JoshX378 @REGGIES_WORLD It’s a bit of a surprise though with Trae and Porzingas only playing in a handful of games for the Hawks and still getting to the 5th/6th seed.

@REGGIES_WORLD Elite Coach and GM is still up to debate. You need to let it run through for the next few years before we decide that. Also Dyson was the MIP last season. Hawks won 41 games last season and the Media predicted the Hawks would improve this season around 45+ wins. No surprises here

I was never a fan of CJ but he has impressed me in the Hawks system. He is a very nice third offensive option IMO. JK is a wild card at this point still.

You're losing that matchup everytime. Best you can get is good offense. What happens when he runs into any good defender?

Forgot to mention, but since I pulled the #'s.... Hawks have struggled on offense with Kuminga + Jalen combo. Small sample still (218 poss.) but they have a 107.8 ORTG, per @cleantheglass. Strong on defense, which isn't surprising with most min alongside Dyson + NAW at guard.

I think it’s easier for Hawks to work around CJ’s defensive limitations (when he is having a good game offensively) than it is to expect Kuminga to be a net positive in end game situations.

That lineup (OO, JJ, CJ, DD, NAW) has been the fifth best lineup +/- in the NBA (minus 250 possessions). CJ just does stuff off the dribble that Kuminga can’t as well as being a better spot up shooter.

@BillShanks Mara is going to be drafted around our first pick will be if we don’t hit the lottery. He should be able to cover the ~18 back-up minutes to Okongwu by the end of the 26/27 season. Picking that up with the 9th pick or the best PG that drops will be a tough Onsi decision.

So, if the #Hawks fall a bit in the lottery, should Aday Mara be an option? Zach Edey went 9th a few years ago. Mara might be similar. He might be better. Then they could possibly get a PG with the Cavs pick later on (maybe hometown kid Christian Anderson?).

They’ve beaten Detroit on the road, Boston by 10 and Orlando by 29 in the past week. They are an excellent team with the current roster.
