Great to see this out. @asmiatimalik and I look at how different agents in Indonesia are negotiating their approach to sustainability & marsec, and the outcomes for governance as traditional marsec actors increasingly make claims to sustainability.

Even in my discussions with SE Asian policymakers/practitioners, these prominent markers of any perceived hypocrisy come up fairly often, and can distract from a lot of the good and important work the UK is doing in the region.

The Chagos announcement has provided a very timely case study for today's seminar on global order. FWIW: I think whatever the flaws in implementation, hopefully this eases some of the hurdles to developing deeper regional relations.
