The new Lancet Seminar lays out how prostate cancer management has transformed across the disease spectrum 🌍🧬 🔍 Early disease Active surveillance is the default for low-risk tumors, avoiding overtreatment while maintaining excellent outcomes. MRI-first pathways improve detection of clinically significant cancer. ⚖️ Localized to high-risk Surgery and modern radiotherapy offer equivalent cancer control. Hypofractionation and SBRT shorten treatment without compromising efficacy. High-risk disease needs multimodality care. 🚀 Metastatic hormone-sensitive ADT alone is no longer enough. ❄️Breaking the ice with Big Data in prostate cancer research! Our latest study from the PIONEER+ Big Data Investigation Group, just published in European Urology Open Science, analyzed nearly 70,000 men with metastatic hormone-sensitive prostate cancer (mHSPC) across Europe and North America. 🔎 Highlights: •Most common comorbidities: hypertension (up to 71%), obesity (46%), and diabetes (32%). •Older patients (70–79 yrs): more often received ADT monotherapy or ADT + ARPI. •Younger patients (60–69 yrs): more often treated with ADT + chemotherapy or triplet therapy. •From 2016–2020: steady rise in ADT + ARPI use, decline in ADT + chemotherapy, while ADT monotherapy remained stable. 👉 Key message: Age and comorbidities are major drivers of treatment choice, and real-world evidence is essential to guide equitable, evidence-based care. 🌍 Once again, PIONEER keeps breaking the ice in the way we do research. sciencedirect.com/science/articl… #ProstateCancer #BigData #RealWorldEvidence #PIONEER+
