Most cartoonists do their Daylight Saving Time jokes when it actually happens. I’m two weeks late. I hope there’s a grace period! gocomics.com/drabble/2026/0…
My twin 6 year old shortstop tagged my twin 6 year old baserunner today in an inter squad game, sliding into second.
My instinct said safe. I made the call.
But the shortstop appealed. Through tears in his eyes, he pointed to his glove was between the base and his brother’s cleat.
“Out!”
I changed my mind.
Well, now my 6 year old baserunner twin started crying. He pointed to his other foot, saying it arrived before the tagged foot. (I think he was right)
But now they’re both crying and pleading with their dad-coach.
I stopped practice and did the logical thing. I made them race to centerfield and back. Winner gets the call.
The shortstop won. The baserunner was, understandably, emotional.
Then I told them that nobody was out or safe and they both lose for crying.
They both cried more.
And that’s little league baby!
