Please follow, draft friends. Watch as excellent draft analysts Mike and Ray expand this great 2027 group from 50 to 100. They’re good, trusted sources who put in the work. And just think for 2027 they won’t need to admit a bunch of TE4’s into the equation like the 2026 crop!

Here is NFL Rough Draft's first Top 50 Board for the 2027 NFL Draft. We are working to expand it to 100 players soon. nflroughdraft.com/top-100/

Feeling sad about Spirit Airlines today. Was able to use it so nicely from a quaint local airport. Was set to use on Thursday this week. Here's to your friendship and service, Spirit Airlines! Thank you for crossing paths with me.

I do not know Terry Smith at all. However, the combination of: 1. Rocking the Joe Pa pin *gross?* to preen for the H/C job. 2. These backhanded comments about his former head coach. Who exactly does this serve? Pretty wack on both counts if you ask me.

Penn State coach Terry Smith spoke on Pittsburgh sports radio, discussing new Steelers QB Drew Allar and peeling back the curtain on offensive issues during final span of James Franklin / Andy Kotelnicki era, including system and weapons. Wrote about it: 247sports.com/college/penn-s…

@TommyJaggi AHHHHHH. Yes, yes. Tommy, you are a person who gets it. It's quite embarrassing that there weren't more educated people in the "frenzy" that took place after what they all called a debacle. It wasn't a debacle, it was a blessing. Iheanachor + Bernard is the better fate.

Just some food for thought: how would the draft sequencing work out if the Steelers were set on going WR/OT or OT/WR with their first two picks? 1. Max Iheanachor and Germie Bernard 2. Makai Lemon and ??? IF Omar Khan was unwilling to budge from this sequencing, the best available OT was... Gennings Dunker? Would they have just taken Dunker at pick No. 53? They ended up getting him anyway at No. 96. Lemon would have been way better than Bernard, but I don't think the sequencing would have been great had they gone WR first, then OT—especially if they view Dunker as a guard. Besides Dunker, the tackles the Steelers who went after Pittsburgh's second round were Markel Bell, Austin Barber, and Caleb Tiernan. So Max-I and Bernard or Lemon and Bell/Barber/Tiernan? I think there's at least a debate there.

I bet Mel has tried to give it all up. Or thought about it. But in the fibers of his very being, he cannot. He won’t. And this is one of those traits with most who have “NFL Draft” in their soul. There’s an obsession.

The older I get, the more I truly understand the fiber that makes up Mel Kiper. There’s so many traits he has that older draftniks (age 40 and up) tend to have. Note: not really talking about the urination aspect here.

After last week’s NFL draft, sports’ single most impressive streak still remains intact: @MelKiperESPN now has gone 43 straight NFL drafts without taking a single bathroom break. Not one. 🎧 open.spotify.com/episode/7KWOtB…

@Pat_Thorman Yes! I don't think people realize how much time some of us spend on these draft classes every year. Ray and I easily spend hundreds of hours per year. It's research, but it also isn't rocket science. On behalf of the 3-time Huddle Report champs (and Leo Komarov), thank you!

This is more or less NFL draft coverage in a nutshell. And I’ll admit I’m not perfect either. Sometimes it’s difficult. It’s just good to be the least amount two-faced as possible.

WOW: Nick Saban was heard on a hot mic after the #Cowboys drafted DE Malachi Lawrence with the 23rd pick in the draft. “WOW… THIS IS A REACH.” As soon as he knew he was live: “Actually, this guy was one of my sleepers for tomorrow. He is a good player”

Props to @ReceDavis who's hosted every round of #NFLDraft again this year - and excelled in the role. Today also marks Rece's final on-air Saturday for a while. After @CollegeGameDay football and basketball shows nearly every week since Aug, he's due for a well-deserved break.

@RotoStreetWolf They have an eye on the 2027 WR draft class. The Raiders could be very good after this next season.

The Raiders are really going to enter 2026 with Jalen Nailor, Tre Tucker, and Jack Bech as their top WRs Brock Bowers might see 200 targets

If you're going to spend a fourth-round pick on a return man (a bit of a luxury pick), why not just use that pick to move up and get the WR you wanted?

The Steelers obviously liked Carson Beck and Drew Allar today, that should tell you everything you need to know about how they feel on Will Howard.

@NFLRoughDraft Those who see something in him aren’t wrong. But can the mental game and footwork recover at this late stage? Penn State and James Franklin in particular committed a felony on his career. THAT was the problem, not his traits/ skills. I’m just rather pessimistic it recovers.

@NFLRoughDraft I’m not sure it’s a wasted pick. As the pre draft process evolved, I ended up preferring other values more than these QB’s. So I didn’t stick to what I said at all. Allar - from 75 and Rd 3 for me, went to Rd 4. But his selection isn’t even one of the top 10 reaches

@NFLRoughDraft Look, at the time you just didn’t realize Allar was a blocking TE. And that’s what it’s all about - that 4th string TE.
