@BikerHikerTechy @EcotrakNI @UlsterWildlife @HerpSocIreland Hey there! Their favourite habitats include heathland, upland/lowland bog with plenty of grassy tussocks, coastal grasslands all with minimal disturbance - including sheep grazing. South-east facing slopes are the bestbway to catch a glimpse of them basking!
English

@EcotrakNI @UlsterWildlife @DragonInHills @HerpSocIreland I have only seen one lizard in Ireland ever. It was on a walking path in Ballycotton in Co Cork.bit was similar to those in your photos.
Where is the best environment to see them? What habitat do they enjoy most?

This year’s young lizards are very active at present. If you’re enjoying the #Mournes in the coming days keep an eye out and you might be lucky enough to spot them. #lizards

The common or viviparous lizard (Zootoca vivipara) is Ireland's only native species of reptile. This fascinating reptile gives birth to live young, a rarity in the reptile world, where most species lay eggs in order to reproduce.🐦🦉🐌🐝🐛🐸#noticenatureireland

If you build it they will come... The scrape/pool dug winter 2019/20 is looking great. The water has cleared, HEAVING with invert larvae, some interesting plants coming up and today x3 C.Darter and x2 Hawker drangonfly species. (One possibly a migrant hawker) Well chuffed.

Look what I saw today! It ran off before I could get a better view, but I know where it hangs out now, so I hope to be able to see it again soon 🖤🦎 @TheLyneUp @EcotrakNI @HerpSocIreland

@EcotrakNI The habitat has promise, I may have to keep scouting for better areas. Ballyquinton is another. I'm thrilled you got out to look. Also, glad you got see the Spring Squill !
English

@EcotrakNI It certainly is, it appears the primary schools kept them well fed and very warm during development.
