@CreepyCatalog @fadetokat If he didn't need to go out of his way to contradict the movie he didn't or at least felt he didn't which is why he said what he said. It's the best possible thing or hope he could give fans when it comes to a movie that isn't directly adapting a story from the games.

Resident Evil movies don’t need to have the game characters in it to be a Resident Evil movie. Stop complaining

@CreepyCatalog @fadetokat But he also says "could be" confirming that it's completely up in the air whether the actual game events are happening alongside the movie, which is set days before when Leon arrives in RC.

@CreepyCatalog @fadetokat so in other words it's not actually canon. The movie takes place on the first day of the outbreak, it's also been stated that the movie takes place during the events of RE2. Leon doesn't show up in Racoon city on the first day of the outbreak.

@CreepyCatalog @fadetokat First I wanted to point out that the new movie did at least have a connection and then point out how silly it is to be upset about a RE product not being heavily tied to other RE products when that's been common place for years in regards to RE.

@CreepyCatalog @fadetokat That's ridiculous, games, movies, shows, etc, can be loosely connected to other installments within the same medium. Based on what you're saying would make that impossible. There also isn't a single RE game universe due to things like the remakes.

@Dragon_Tavinn @fadetokat Again, I'm not complaining. You do not understand. Those games you showed are not "as loosely connected" to Resident Evil as this movie, because they're literally in the game universe. Cregger's movie is in a separate adaptation of that universe. Separate.

Why ask the questions you did already knowing that about RE? How are you not just complaining to complain?

@CreepyCatalog @fadetokat 50% is not well received. In what world is that considered well received? If this movie came out and had a 50% audience score nobody would be claiming it's well received. The RE fan base is not kind to those movies.

And the statement you initially refuted is that "plenty of people" enjoy the movies. They do. Demonstrably. But again, this has NOTHING to do with the original post.

@R0GU3_N1T3 @fadetokat They are loose when the game doesn't devote any kind of significant amount of time or attention to them. Them being mainline or not doesn't matter. They are loose or come across as loose as this movie is to the games. Also where did I ask you for connections?

@CreepyCatalog @fadetokat I picked the first one I Googled and it was low which disproved your statement. I didn't need to Google the other ones if one of them literally disproves what you're saying. You're also ignoring the fact that in some of those reviews it says "based on 5 reviews"

Want to compare these scores to the live-actions movies so far? Did you also ignore me saying that I'm not judging the quality of the new movie?
