Just a little follow up on this. I’ve been through my last year’s posts, and around 40% have been flagged as AI by Meta. Including this image that was created a couple of years before genAI was widely available. So… yeah.

I'm an artist. I don't hate AI. I'm not threatened by AI. If I accept a commission and you send an AI reference, I won't insult you, reject you, or put you on blast. AI is here to stay, whether you like it or not. That's just a fact.

@Emily_Art I am using the latest version, but don’t use any of the AI tools, like generative fill, upscale etc. I’ve only ever used a small handful of PS tools anyway, all from the pre-AI era. Unless Adobe are now embedding some kind of AI metadata in every single file…which they might be.

@DragonsofWales It might be because of using the latest version of Photoshop? I stalled mine at 2020's version out of fear of accidentally using the genAI tools in there.

A portrait of Paranthropus, an extinct hominin from between 1 and 2.9 million years ago. The validity of Paranthropus as a distinct species is a subject of debate. Whatever it really is, or isn’t, here’s my interpretation. Ceated with Procreate, Photoshop and zero generative AI.

@Vedad_Art All Paranthropus had a predominantly vegetarian diet, probably supplemented by insects and meat. This illustration is of P. boisei, which is the one that is best known for its grass and sedge-based diet.

@DragonsofWales Is this the genus that sepcialised in eating grasses? Or is that only a species of Palanthropus?
