Deleted my last post about this and rewriting it now. To be real I am pissed off about this and I was lashing out at people about it. Not what I want to do so I am sorry for that.
Ashes of Creation had a referral program and they never paid out anyone through it. No content creators made any money off it and some people are claiming anyone with a link made bank to stir up shit. Anyone saying we've made money off it is lying to you. We got ripped off just like everyone else.
This referral program was meant to give 15% of any "Ongoing Account Purchases" to the creator. Meaning the player needed to have an active subscription in order for any income to be earned. This incentivized creators to make content in the game to keep people interested. It also was never turned on since the game never had active subscriptions.
This wasn't a shit plan for a Social Sandbox game. These kinds of games are made or broken on player interaction and conflict. Games like EVE Online have epic tales to tell because players setup the scenarios, put the pieces on the board, and execute plans to tell those tales.
Normally people burn out when they're in leadership roles for these games because it becomes a second job. This system could have at least compensated people for that load of work. It was a novel approach to monetization and I thought it was cool.
But then Steven lied about investments and crashed the game and development team into a brick wall.
Overall I am legitimately sick of the witch hunting and bullshit over this game. Everyone got ripped off and lied to. The creators, players, and developers are all in a shit spot because of the decisions and lies of Steven Sharif and no one else.

@PirateSoftware damaging the consumer friendly "Stop Killing Games" movement when he can't even deliver on the shit game he took peoples' kickstarter money for 8 YEARS AGO is wild *but not that surprising* #notadev#roachware#manaGem
There's some irony in Liquid Stranger using "we the trailblazers" as the tagline in a track that's essentially a Peekaboo impersonation. Pretty dope tune though! 😸
@MikeyLion_ Glad you had a good time, but hard disagree.
People with disabilities shouldn’t have to leave a festival due a lack of accommodations that’s so bad it’s literally against the law.
People shouldn’t be dying after medics take 45 minutes to arrive at the scene.
I could go on ..
Don’t believe the negative vocal minority. Texas Eclipse Festival was fucking amazing!! 99.9% of people had the time of their lives. The clouds opened up for the whole duration of totality and it was one of the most beautiful experiences of my life
