Because apparently it’s hard for some people to understand a goaltender showing emotion, let’s take a look. Last year on November 29th, 2024, Jesper Wallstedt - who was supposed to be in a 3-goalie rotation in Minnesota with the Wild, but instead had to go to Iowa due to #mnwild cap constraints - was a full-time AHL goalie. He had made 10 starts and was 3-6-1 with a 0.860 Sv% and 4.34 GAA and was pretty much near rock bottom. Fans and analysts alike were calling him bust. Fast forward to 2025, Wallstedt has bounced back and is in a 2 goalie rotation and has arguably been the best goaltender in the NHL, not in the AHL, NHL! sporting a 7-0-2 record with a 1.93 GAA, 0.938 Sv% and 3 shutouts. Silencing his haters. This is a young goalie who battled back from his lowest to reach pinnacle of his position. God forbid he has a little fun celebrating another big win after shutting down the top team in the NHL and denying two of the best players in the world in the shootout.
