#WPIAL Champions Eric Craciun & Drew Steals both had very impressive weekends for Rize. 6'6 2029 Eric Craciun averaged 13.5 PPG 4 Reb & 4Ast in addition to having a near triple double against caveman 16U. 6'1 2028 Drew Steals averaged 24 PPG & shot very efficiently (7/9 from 3 in one game & 6/6 in another). Both prospects also provided great energy & intensity defensively all weekend being effective with their pressure, communication & activity. Drew Steals has been huge for Sewickley Academy. This 3-pointer, his fifth of the game, gives the Panthers a 37-35 lead with 4:45 left. He has 15.

Sewickley Academy will have one of the most well-rounded starting lineups in the WPIAL this year. Sophomore PG Drew Steals, senior wing Lucas Grimsley, sophomore forward Mamadou Kane, and junior big man Adam Ikamba are going to be a matchup nightmare for a lot of teams.

Drew Steals (Sewickley Academy, ’28) is one of the most complete guards in his class. High IQ, elite shooter, advanced defender, and poised PG who plays with pace & moves well without the ball. Set for a breakout sophomore year to prove he’s among the best in 2028. @DrewSteals0

After Linville Hill increased its lead to three, Sewickley Academy ends a 10-0 run with this layup to pull the Panthers within one at 53-52 with 53 seconds left. Steals has 17 points.

And this is how it ends ... Mamadou Kane's shot at the buzzer doesn't fall, allowing Linville Hill to defeat Sewickley Academy, 55-54, in the PIAA Class 2A championship. The Panthers coughed up an 8-point fourth quarter lead. Drew Steals had a team-best 17 points.
