So weird it's offensive to you that I, as Chinese, call our own festival the Chinese New Year. It's a festival based on the Chinese-invented lunisolar calendar, follows Chinese traditions, and to this day still depends on Chinese scientists to calculate the day. Many other Asian countries that celebrate it still call it the Chinese New Year, such as Malaysia, Singapore, and Thailand. If just because people of other countries are also doing the same thing, so we should rip the origin off it, maybe we should start with changing the language 'English' to 'USAlish,' 'Singalish,' 'Malaysianish,' since not just English people are using that language.
