I’ve now seen two highway accidents caused by late reactions on FSD v12, and I’ve had one close call myself, so I’m especially cautious about following distance and scanning ahead for traffic slowdowns.
V14 is a significant improvement over V12 in how quickly it responds to slowdowns, but there’s still work to do, especially when it comes to maintaining a safe following distance.

@DevinOlsenn You’re missing the ignorance of never having tried it. People that just don’t understand are usually those that have never even bother to try. Not saying they will like it even if they do, but the few people I’ve ever given a ride to can’t believe it can do what it does.
English

Is there something I’m missing?
How can people spend 2+ hours a day commuting and then come home and call me stupid for using FSD.
There’s no reasonable person on earth that can sit in traffic for an hour driving manually and at the end of their drive be like “hell yeah, let’s do that again everyday mon-fri until I retire!”
English

@Bar_Almog @SawyerMerritt Really? Its current nav routing is horrendous. This should’ve been solved years ago but yet it still makes some technically embarrassing decisions.
English

@SawyerMerritt To a certain extent Sawyer. Its current Achilles heal are issues that are associated with GPS/Navigational guidance. For example, my car keeps taking the tolls on the highway when it can take the fast toll lane. There is no way to bypass this besides for an intervention.

Not sure why some people say Tesla's AI4 won't be able to achieve Unsupervised. It's literally already doing it lol

Here is 30 minutes (sped up) of Tesla’s unsupervised @robotaxi driving in Austin. It is real @elonmusk
English

@SawyerMerritt @elonmusk Dumb when the hardware will be obsolete in 18-24 months.

@SawyerMerritt @elonmusk Date at top would’ve been nice so someone can’t accuse of rehashing old content.

@ntsako_tebu_ @ColonelMark4 @Handre And if you live there, how are you posting on X if you don’t have internet?
English

@ColonelMark4 @Handre I’m asking because we live in these “Rural”
Areas. We are asking about something that is meant to benefit us. Name the rural areas please. Start with Limpopo
English

Current situation South Africa, a geographically large country with a rural population of millions of people.
Many areas don't even have a cellphone signal, let alone internet.
Elon: We can give you high-speed web access in all rural areas for less than what your local suppliers are currently asking in cities.
ANC: Sounds great, but you are white.
Elon: I will give free web access to 2.4 million underprivileged children.
ANC: But... you are white.
SA-Media: This white racist doesn't want to abide by our non racist rules. He must give 30% of his company to our black elites for free, fuck the school children.
English

@ntsako_tebu_ @Handre Communication across large distances and the ability to share photos, videos, and do things like FaceTime enable construction in remote areas enable you get you water and electricity infrastructure built quicker and more efficiently.
English

@DevinOlsenn @Tesla @TeslaCarey Mad Max is back without ludicrous speed on the freeway. I love it - I seriously hope they don’t neuter it this time. the acceleration from stops, certainly faster through city streets, and overall agressiveness - definitely feels more like it did in early days of 14.1.
English

@elonmusk @DirtyTesLa @teslaownersSV @TaiwanSemi_TSC @Samsung But is it enough to achieve unsupervised driving?
English

@teslaownersSV @TaiwanSemi_TSC @Samsung Optimus and our supercomputer clusters.
AI4 is enough to achieve much better than human safety for FSD.
English

@M1keeuk @DirtyTesLa That’s why the mentioned the possibility of tiered pricing earlier this year. Because I can see them charging more for unsupervised as they will become a defacto insurance company at that point.
English

Dirty - Normally I'm super optimistic, but not today! i don't think Tesla is even wanting to move to "unsupervised" any time soon for consumer purchased Tesla.
I think whole whole liability, insurance and potential cost of one-off failures (was it the other human, AI, or drivers fault mess of complex crashes is challenging) means they always want us supervising! Its my gut feeling insurance and regulatory wise they can not make the move!
WHY do i think that? 14.3.x did not arrive with any improved empty car drop off (go park) and pick up 1 press (no aborts)! If they were truly planning on unsupervised they would start letting us send and call empty vehicles further distances and efficiently in parking lots etc with 1 tap perfection - but nope! same ASS system.
English

Customer personal unsupervised or Ai5, which comes first?
Elon Musk@elonmusk
Congrats to the @Tesla_AI chip design team on taping out AI5! AI6, Dojo3 & other exciting chips in work.
English

@DirtyTesLa And not an EAP customer although I do have early or advanced (can’t remember the verbiage) selected for software updates and 14.3.1 downloaded and installed for me last night.
English

@DevinOlsenn @Tesla_AI This is why I love FSD - still on 14.2.2.5. Car swerving to avoid a person standing 6 inches outside the white line on a 55mph curve at night. I cannot believe this dude was walking this highway at night like that.
English

@Drizzt3124 @Tesla_AI I’m working, I think she’s laying by a pool somewhere drinking a pina colada and reading a book 😒

FSD V14.3.1 downloading now.
I’m almost certain @Tesla_AI has access to my calendar - becuase guess what… I’m not at home, I’m in Mexico right now 😩

Here's my first drive on Tesla FSD V14.3.1. It feels polished vs 14.3 and it my opinion is ready for wide release.
• With 14.3.1, you can now tap on the new "P" parking icon and bring up your different parking options
• Mad Max mode on the highway feels slightly more conservative with top speed (favors low 80s more often), but will now get to the right lanes sooner to prepare for exiting the highway. In this first drive, Mad Max did not go above 83mph, despite no cars around me most of the time. Follow distance is also more comfortable. I like all these things.
• I'm having zero brake stabbing issues on 14.3.1, whereas I had a couple on my first drive with 14.3
• Urban lane selection is better vs 14.3
• Navigation routes and occasional parking alignment still need some work, but that's not a reason to hold back wide release.
It still surprises me how much quicker V14.3 reacts to things. If a car pulls out of a parking spot as you drive by, FSD hits the brakes before you even know what's going on. The 20% better reaction time is definitely noticeable.

@DirtyTesLa It aint going "wide" until 14.3.1.4.2.9 anyway. I wouldn't rush it.
