@spuffyologies I don't think Buffy has changed fundamentally. Friends remain friends for her, enemies remain enemies. Instead, Spike, who hated all the Scoobies and wanted to kill them, is ready to give his life in the end even for Xander, who still hates him.

@DromePower buffy has arguably the best development. good arcs don't necessarily mean going from bad guy to good guy, this is very reductive. in faith's case, most of the redemption happens off screen after she turns herself in so how could it be better written than buffy's organic growth?
