@DruaBeThere MP is suitable for NPC or Super Au - team made up of players mostly from the islands. Funding would still be an issue if in NPC. Au Gov funding likely available if in Super Au.

A comment made in this podcast reflects my own thoughts about Moana Pasifika If the best Samoans and Tongans playing for the Blues, Chiefs, Crusaders, Highlanders and Hurricanes decided to play for MP, it's a different team, but that's not happening and I have to ask Why?🤷🏾‍♂️

@1stFive8 Moana gave me the feel of a team too strongly attached to NZ and All Blacks. I hope the team can find backing for the future but most of all I'd hope it gives a new direction, put Samoa and Tonga at the forefront rather than an after thought.

@DruaBeThere MP were NOT introduced so the best players of PI heritage in NZ can play for them. Then intention wasn't to weaken NZ sides. MP were introduced so they can bring back quality PI players from overseas like Pellegrini and develop from the islands like Fai'ilagi.

Moana Pasifika My way of looking at this is focusing on Drua. For me, what really works with Drua is we're developing players for pro rugby worldwide - Japan, US, NZ, Aus, France, Italy, UK etc So long as we're part of GROWING RUGBY we've got much more to build and innovate
