Evidence of political indoctrination in our classrooms. The National Education Union has shown its true colours: its agenda is political, biased and partisan and that’s what it wants its members- many of them teaching in our schools- to teach our children. Britain’s schools should be about education, not ideology. It’s painful to see what is happening. Reform UK stands with hardworking teachers and parents who love Britain and want our schools to be free from political dogma. We speak for the silent majority, not the militant NEU chiefs.
Ellie Hodges@elliehodges62

🚨 BREAKING 🚨 I’ve got my hands on the 2026 conference agenda for the National Education Union the UK’s largest teaching union. It states: “Reaffirm the union’s opposition to all forms of racism, fascism and far-right extremism, including the divisive politics promoted by Reform UK.” And then: “The trade union movement must throw its full weight behind stopping a Reform UK government.” This isn’t neutral. It’s the UK’s largest teaching union taking a clear position against a political party while Zack Polanski has been invited to speak at conference. And these are the people shaping what’s happening in our classrooms. Have a look at this material yourself⬇️

Some academics who denounced the idea of objectivity and declared themselves activists are for some reason shocked that policymakers and the public now view them not as trusted, objective scientists but as...activists.

@fpc I'll take that single-word response with emoji as your concession. Again. Thanks for the chat!

@fpc Do I need to draw you a picture, Peter?! Just because I was able to decipher your mess doesn't mean it wasn't a mess. Your 'linguistic car crash' failed *linguistically*, no matter how hard you try to spin the wreckage.

@fpc I didn't misinterpret anything. I understood your intent perfectly. It's your execution that failed. You can't blame the reader for a 'linguistic car crash' when you were the one who lost control of the car!

@fpc @SteveTransform I've just re-read this thread and realised you tried so hard to be clever there that you accidentally claimed you conceded the argument before it started. What a linguistic car crash! Maybe stick to the insults. The logic isn't quite landing.

@Drugism @SteveTransform Insults can be accurate and deserved. There will be no getting through to a person named Drugism. Your perceived 'concession' happened before the chat even began.

In @CityJournal, I profile three Democratic-led cities (San Francisco, San Jose, and Philadelphia) which are doing sensible things about crime and drugs and finding that voters appreciate it (even if activists don't). city-journal.org/article/democr…

@KeithNHumphreys @ramendik I specifically said tobacco *regulation* is the success story. Death tolls are highest in countries with weak oversight. In highly regulated countries, smoking rates have crashed to ~10% because of legal controls. That's the blueprint: put the market under public health control.

Harm reduction started in the 1980s when HIV was infinitely more deadly than opioid (heroin) use, so stopping the latter was de-prioritized to prevent the former. Today HIV is completely treatable and opioid use (fentanyl) is deadlier than ever. Need to update thinking to match.

Day 4 at the UN Commision on Narcotic Drugs. There's a radical element of NGOs funded by George Soros here who's sole purpose is to legalize drugs. Imagine being able to go to Walmart and buy fentanyl. That's what they want. It's disqualifying. @ONDCP @SaraCarterDC @elonmusk 🧵

@Twolfrecovery There's nothing inherently immoral about consenting adult risk-taking behaviours. It isn't the role of governments to police these. Accountability lies with broken drug laws (and their supporters) that failed to create a 'drug-free world' and instead fuel monstrous black markets

Drug addicts require accountability. San Francisco’s official policy from 2019-2025 was the opposite. It was so bad that formerly homeless recovering addicts like me had to speak up. 4,500 overdose deaths later, we might be moving in the right direction.

@The_Beagle90 @melrod42 Correlation does not imply causation. In a state where 1 in 4 adults use cannabis, "past year use" is a background variable, not a clinical cause. Stigma isn't a substitute for data, even for a "rocket surgeon."

@melrod42 A drunk might stab the drunk in the next barstool and pot dealers shoot each other rather than pay up. But they don’t stab random strangers on subways or shoot up churches or elementary schools. Psychotic violence is what most normal people are more concerned about.

@melrod42 @Nemopunk15 @LukeNiforatos The reverse paradigm really grates me. They aren’t anti-drugs—drugs don't have agency. They're anti-people. Specifically, they advocate for a system of selective prohibition that historically and practically results in the systemic targeting of minority and marginalised groups.

@Nemopunk15 @LukeNiforatos Maybe instead of calling themselves the "anti-marijuana movement" SAM should call themselves the "pro-drug dealer" movement. Being for something usually works better than being against something. They might even attract some wealthy funders, who they keep secret.
