Fun fact: Because of UMBC's amazing Meyerhoff program, the play-in game of UMBC and Howard University features the two schools that graduate between them the majority of Black scientists and doctors in our country.

My Stanford colleague Paul Ehrlich has died. He gained fame by predicting that overpopulation would lead to disaster. He lived until the era of plunging fertility and predictions that this too would lead to disaster. RIP.
