My husband got a bonus today…. Literally hit our account this morning. It isn’t a huge bonus but enough to get a couple of things caught up/paid off and do something with the kids. He just came in for lunch and our fridge stopped working at some point. He still has to look at it.. but doesn’t have high hopes he can fix it. I’m not sure whether or not to be grateful we have a little extra right now to replace it or be pissed off.. because as soon as we have it - out it goes, and I have to let go of my plans. Also maddening is the fridge is only like 5 years old, but conveniently out of the warranty period. I’ll have a pity party now and be over it tomorrow. 🥹

@JamesBruce131 @Mindsetfx In SA he would have to buy the stock in trust from the get go. Moving it from his name to trust at a later stage would trigger a taxable event (Capital Gains Tax).

@Mindsetfx This assumes unlimited borrowing, no market crashes, no estate tax, and tax laws staying the same forever. In reality interest compounds, leverage cuts both ways, and one bad year breaks the whole plan.

Dad buys stock at $250K. It grows to $12M. If he sells, he owes tax on an $11.75M gain. Instead, he puts it in a trust. Borrows against it. Borrowing is not income. So no tax. He lives on loans. Never sells. He dies holding the asset. Kids inherit at a $12M basis. IRS gets $0.

In my 15+ years of trading, I can safely say, very few people seems to understand how to define trend. If they do, they aren't talking about it. You are not going to find any source (to my knowledge- other than myself) that will show you this. (DM if you find something, I'm actually interested). "But this looks like market structure." Correct, market structure = the sum of all trends.
