If you want to understand how a $25M micro-cap turned into a $35B aerospace giant, then you would be studying the story of $HEI. I would say HEICO is basically the $CSU of Aerospace. Victor Mendelson laid out the entire playbook at the Gabelli Aerospace and Defense Symposium. The key insight is how HEICO corners the aftermarket. They operate very similarly to generic drug makers for the aviation industry. Planes get rebuilt every 6 years. The OEM's naturally hike parts prices as high as 13% every year regardless of the economy. HEICO steps in and sells those same FAA approved replacement parts for ~30% less. This structural pricing advantage prints cash.
Mendelson made it very clear that cash flow is the only thing that really matters. He dismisses amortization as a phony accounting number. He treats depreciation as a strict proxy for real capital expenditures and heavily burdens their evaluations with it. They target massive 26-28% EBITA margins in their Electronic Technologies Group. They hit these numbers by acquiring niche, founder-led businesses and keeping the original management completely autonomous.
Mendelson noted their M&A pipeline is overflowing with active deals. Fast forward to today, and this exact strategy is still working very well. The company also just acquired Southwest Antennas and Sherwood Avionics this past month. The underlying cash engine remains very well intact. Their components from recent acquisitions like Exxelia even just flew on NASA's Artemis II space launch. This company is an absolute capital allocation machine.

@cap_zay Learning “nothing new” about a company that has consistently compounded cash flow at 20% - 30% for over two decades is probably a good thing.

@AChosenOne22 @ronsterd89 ………then go out and buy some coasters.
🤦♂️

@ronsterd89 PLACE A DRY TOWEL OVER IT AND THEN USE A CLOTHES IRON OVER THE CLOTH TOWEL UNTIL THE STAINS COME OUT OF THE WOOD FINISH AND WAX WHICH IS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU SET SOMETHING WET ONTO WOOD FURNITURE.

@BigBlockVette69 @CGasparino @BobSloanS3 @S3Partners I’d love to hear their rational. The common “pour point BS due to high paraffin content” circulating in the marketplace is certainly not permanent damage.

Iran's economy is literally on its last legs. The rial is is in the dumps. The regime has weeks before the IRGC can't get paid.
I got into it on Risk & Return with @BobSloanS3
Bob Sloan brings the @S3Partners data. I bring the headlines.

@biancoresearch The idea that “shutting down oil production is extremely damaging” is one of the most ridiculous myths circulating in the markets today.…..but I do find it amusing.
English

I wrote this on April 26
Iran is running out of oil storage, and shutting down oil production is extremely damaging (true).
However, Iran has one more "card" to play: dump 2 million barrels/day into the Persian Gulf, creating an ecological disaster?
Jack Prandelli@jackprandelli
🚨Satellites have detected a massive oil spill spreading across a vast area of the Persian Gulf around Iran's Kharg Island. Synthetic aperture radar imagery shows a large surface slick emanating from the waters around Kharg Island, Iran's primary crude oil export terminal responsible for roughly 90% of the country's oil exports. At the time of detection, multiple tankers were simultaneously loading at the Kharg Island terminal. It is not yet clear whether the spill originated from a loading operation, a vessel, subsea infrastructure, or the terminal itself.

@philly2hoboken @angiewong I do not believe that……nor did I believe it when Al Gore said it 20 years ago.
English

@angiewong Simple question - do you believe or don't believe Miami will be under water in about 20 years?
English

I just want to personally thank Mayor Zohran Mamdani for scaring away the billionaire class from NYC and helping bring billions in tax revenue to my district of Brickell Miami, where Ken Griffin’s Citadel is building its massive Class A office tower next to my office and bringing thousands of high earning professionals to the area.
The economic shift into Downtown Miami is truly transformative. Billions in new investments, new jobs, new infrastructure, and a growing tax base can help fund schools, transportation, and the modernization of Miami as it evolves into the new Wall Street of America. Keep the expats coming! @ZohranKMamdani #kengriffen #citadel #miami
English

@angiewong @BillAckman Congrats Miami! Unfortunately, NYC will have to learn the hard way, but it will be a wonderful lesson for the rest of the country to watch and learn.

@lloydblankfein @CGasparino Because your new mayor hates capitalism.

Hedgeye CEO @KeithMcCullough on why "full send" 0DTE options can work — but only if you have a process behind it.
English

@Hedgeye @biancoresearch What is it about embracing the fringe that makes certain people feel prudent? Someone should ask @biancoresearch and @KeithMcCullough. They seem to have all of the answers.

@grey4626 @KeithOlbermann Be kind to Keith. Accepting one’s own irrelevance is a painful process.

@KeithOlbermann How about this... Here me out:
Shut the fuck up.

@KeithOlbermann @Nobananarepub You embody the systemic problem with journalism
Journalists are supposed to investigate and report the truth
Not protest or decline things they disagree with
You cannot report the truth. If you cannot maintain objectivity

Some people will watch this video and notice the suboptimal form, the slightly uneven path of the dumbbells, or some other part of the set that doesn’t meet their standard.
Fair enough.
But here’s what I see:
At 61, I’m still getting stronger.
Im still building resilience.
Im still working to improve wherever I can.
And now I get to help hundreds of others do the same.
Go Bills😂

@BishopKarel @nigertale @PopBase Why not make everyone a ward of the State? That always works out so well.

New York City mayor Zohran Mamdani says the Warner Bros. and Paramount merger should be stopped:
“This merger is bad for New Yorkers three times over. Thousands of jobs at risk here in the city. Streaming bills going up as competition disappears. And two of America’s most powerful media companies under one roof, deciding what you watch and what you hear.
Today, as Warner Bros. and Paramount shareholders vote, New York City is on record: this merger should be stopped.”
