There’s a reason why the players in the Steelers locker room reportedly ‘universally’ told the Steelers they wanted Aaron Rodgers back in their exit interviews after the season back in January. They know he can still play.
They were in the building with him every day. They practiced & played with him every week. These are NFL football players; they know what good QB play looks like & what it doesn’t look like. And they know Rodgers wasn’t the reason last year’s team was limited. The lack of a legitimate NFL WR rotation + the underperforming defense I think we’re definitely bigger culprits of that than Rodgers was.
I’m excited to see how much higher the ceiling can get this year with McCarthy calling the plays and Aaron actually having a legit WR room to throw to, opening up more opportunities to throw the ball downfield than he had a season ago.

Ernie "Fats" Holmes had a team high 11 sacks in 1974, including a stretch of 6 consecutive games with a sack, tying him with Mean Joe Greene and Greg Lloyd for the longest streak in Steelers franchise history.

Name an old-school NFL player today's fans do not appreciate enough.

@KenSterner Not saying Super Bowl but no one had seahawks as champs last season . So let's just wait and see what happens .

Jim Abbott's amazing no-hitter has to be up there with one of the most underrated athletic achievements of all time. I mean, even within the baseball community, it's not talked about a lot at all.
And this was against what would become one of the most dominant offensive line ups in the mid to late 90s. Lofton, Baerga, Belle, Ramirez Thome, Alomar jr.

@ThompsonFoto12 A lot of fans say Ben did that all too them also. Lol. But Ben did go on his radio show and blame AB for the interception he threw to a NT , saying AB didn't run deep enough or something like that. So I'm sure that would drive us all nuts.
English

“I love Ben.” “I hate Ben.” “Ben is great.” “Ben destroyed my life.” Blah, blah, blah. The bipolar personality is great for social media likes and RT’s I guess. But it’s getting ridiculous to even take anything AB says seriously. I stopped listening to him years ago.

@MikeAsti11 Not sure what a true "yinzer" is but one thing I know is these posts makes both of yinz jagoffs . Also seems so many others embrace the thought of being part of western PA it's a great place to raise little yinzers.

English

I’m not saying I dislike true “yinzers” at all, but the perception of people who fit that bill is negative from those on the outside. People who can’t speak properly, sound unintelligent etc. That doesn’t mean those stereotypes are true, but continuously leaning in on it feels like leaning into negative stereotypes that don’t even fit everyone in and around Pittsburgh.
English

I agree with this, mostly because there’s such a misconception about what a “yinzer” is. Too many outsiders think literally every person from Pittsburgh fits “yinzer.” That’s just not the case. A “yinzer” fulfills every negative stereotype about people from Pittsburgh.
Colin Dunlap@colin_dunlap
Probably an unpopular opinion — and I’m ready for the backlash — but the whole “yinzer” bit has been incredibly overplayed, is stale and gives the impression to the rest of the country Pittsburghers are all dumb.

Alien Ant Farm recorded Smooth Criminal without intending to release the track. The label liked the track so much that it made it the first single from the album Anthology (2001). It was a huge success: it reached #1 on the American alternative rock chart, sold over 1 million copies in the US alone and became the band's biggest hit. Michael Jackson loved the version so much that he personally called to congratulate the guys.
