The bears are testy this spring. 🐻🐻🐻 Sad start to the season, I always warn the tourists don't pet the bears or the bison ....they never listen. A hiker from Fort Lauderdale, Florida has been killed in a bear attack inside Glacier National Park, Montana, the first human fatality from a bear at the park in 28 years. In August 2025, a hiker was injured by a bear but lived. As we say in Montana 'Be Bear Aware' and bring your bear spray! Never, ever hike alone!

Proactive police work and keen observation by an officer led to the arrest of two individuals connected to an organized retail theft operation targeting businesses in the area this afternoon. Officers observed suspicious behavior by two individuals at Best Buy. During the investigation, officers discovered numerous electronic items inside the vehicle and detained two suspects inside the store. Additional stolen merchandise was recovered during the arrest. Recovered stolen property included: • $3,803.79 in electronics from Best Buy • Approximately $200 in merchandise from TJ Maxx • Approximately $2,250 in merchandise from Ulta Beauty locations Investigators also discovered receipts indicating the suspects had allegedly traveled across multiple states committing thefts and shipping stolen merchandise back home through FedEx locations. Additional organized retail crime charges are expected. A 29-year-old male and 35-year-old female from Portland, Oregon, were each charged with Felony Theft and Possession of Burglary Tools. Strong proactive police work helped recover thousands of dollars in stolen merchandise and prevent additional losses to businesses in our community. We are continually grateful for the work of our team.
