I just saw the profile of someone @elonmusk took a pic with. He liked one of her posts. I am literally one of Elon's biggest fans. Not quiet about it at all. In fact, I've been called names at work because I support him. I've had to leave a job, because of constand harrassment-- because I support him. And now. I am afraid. I read some of her posts. She is against women voting. Saying that women should be completely submissive to men. etc. Granted, I am a conservative. I believe feminism started out to end oppression of women. For example, we should be allowed to earn a living and get an education. We should have a right to certain freedoms (like not being hanged for not wearing a headscarf or have our noses cut off if we don't agree to forced marriage). However, I don't agree with current feminism. I believe they have taken things wayyyy to far. And thus, is causing a secondary wave of hatred towards women. And causing men to hate us even more because of the irrational views of certain leftist women. However, this woman.. the one that Elon liked her post and took a picture with her.. I read some of her posts. Let me reiterate some of her views: She is against women voting. Saying that women should be completely submissive to men. etc. I wonder.. and I wish someone would answer this... Such a powerful role model as Elon, liking this person's posts, makes me very afraid and quite sad. If we go back to the way things were before we could even vote, I am truly afraid. If one is a widow, how will she sustain her family? Without work or education? If her husband is disabled, how will she sustain him? Without work or education? Most of all, what about the things that I love and make me wake up in the morning ? The things that keep me happy? I've loved Robots and tech since I was a kid. I've worked very hard earning degrees in Math and CS, and am still publishing research because I absolutely love it. I build tools because I am curious and it honestly brings much joy. And it never took away from raising my kids. I paid my dues already. And they are thriving. I am very proud of them. But I do have a daughter. I'm afraid, because the United States was a place I thought was open to all -- a land of opportunity. And I know first hand what it was like to live in a communist country. I know first hand what it is to live without freedom. I know first hand what it was like to live in an ultra religious family. I was not allowed to work or go to school. I had to sneak around to study. The same men from my country are much further along then me now. Because I had to start late as I was not allowed in their field. But I purservere. Now CS AI and Math is my passion. It brings me so much happiness. I'm afraid that if such powerful people feel the way this woman does, I will not be able to support my family anymore. I will not be able to enjoy the things that I love. And, I am afraid for my daughter. I should not have to feel this way in the freeest country in the world. As a woman, I can tell you. We feel the same way you do. We have passions and desires the same as men. We want to build, create, and learn. And we can also be mothers, wives, lovers. We can study while the kids are in school, we can accomplish great things after they graduate. Especially now with Tesla Optimus coming soon into the picture. Similar interests do not lessen what or who a man is, it amplifies it. Good women should not have to bear the consequences of other women that are lost. Just as good men and fathers should not have to bear the judgement of a few lost souls. But for now, I sit without answers. Afraid, because it is all too familiar. Sad, because I can't reach out to my role model and ask why?
