@_MissingTheMark My ADHD teacher brain and my son's autistic 7 year old brain are full on embracing a low demand holiday to recover with lots of reading (me) and lots of lego and blocks and guilt free TV time with the same episodes on repeat (him)

Anyone else hear @RishiSunak say “Adults who can’t understand basic maths should be embarrassed…” ? What about those with Dyscalculia or other SEND that impact on maths ..should they be embarrassed? (Or in fact anyone who finds maths difficult?!)

Don’t play with matches, shoot at hares or suck your thumb - the scariest child’s book ever. No wonder it was in the #atticclearance

Two teachers that I know quite well & have a lot of time for both left the profession today. Neither has any intention of ever setting foot inside the classroom again. I still don't think the DfE have any idea of how bad the retention crisis is going to get over the coming years.

@EdTangled When behaviour charts used to be in all schools, we had a parent who would say to their 4 yo each morning "try and get on the shooting star today". Performance pressure before 9am because the rainbow or sunshine weren't 'good enough. Behaviour charts are just soul destroying

4yr olds in Year R who are barely speaking, but can say 'raincloud' and point to the public humiliation board where children's names are pegged, are not being taught well or cared for, are they. And that's not a question.

The problem with Ofsted, is that it is an abusive relationship. When schools get a good or outstanding grade they feel validated for their hard work in getting there. Teachers and leaders work hard anyway, you don't need validation from an abusive partner. #FuckOffsted

I shared this half an hour ago, and since then my inbox has filled with messages from people sharing their stories. Sadly, they want this anonymous blogger to know that they are not alone, they too have felt shame, humiliation, and despair at the hands of inspectors.

Sharing this on behalf of an anonymous colleague whose story needs to be heard. We need things to change, urgently. assure.education/blog/it-could-…

As of this week I have resigned from Ofsted as an inspector. I do think that there is place for external scrutiny of schools, however the political agenda that seems to be driving the inspectorate, coupled with the toxicity of some inspection teams,

This shows how rotten and childlike the system has become.

@Evelynforde1 I am a childminder. I lost my outstanding grade because I referred to a bird as a birdie whilst reading a story and keeping 3 under 5 year olds engaged with a stranger in the room watching on. The inspector smirked as she told me I had immediately lost my outstanding grade.
