@al_mancil @oldhockeycards All time highlight from that one, Don Marcotte checking Michel Plasse behind the net, taking the puck, wheeling in front and shooting past Guy Lapointe ridiculously pretending to be a goalie for a SHG.

@ZakAsatrian @TheHall @Patriots Fully agree with this! No need to vote. Gronk will win popular vote and deserve it. Hall needs to change the rules that 2 of 3 get in via vote. Committee did a great job. Mankins will never get in unless this is changed. Vinatieri may be left out too. Need vets comm for 3rd yrly

Most people forget Adam's most important contribution to the Pats. In 1999 Adam missed 3 FG's that season that would have tied or won games the Pats lost. If he had made those kicks the Pats might have been 11-5 instead of 8-8 and Pete Carroll would have been the HC of Pats as we entered the new century instead of BB.

@HurwitzSports Thank you Ethan, excellent list.
I would add Mosi Tatupu, Chuck Fairbanks and Bucko Kilroy.

The Patriots Hall of Fame Committee met today to finalize the 2026 ballot. I'm not on the committee, but here are my top candidates that I would campaign and vote for (in no order):
- WR Wes Welker (2007-2012)
- TE Rob Gronkowski (2010-2018)
- TE Russ Francis (1975-1980, 1987-1989)
- DT Julius Adams (1971-1985, 1987)
- DE Larry Eisenhauer (1961-1969)
- OG Logan Mankins (2005-2013)
- K Adam Vinatieri (1996-2005)
- HC/WRs Raymond Berry (1978-1981, 1984-1989)
- Exec. Ernie Adams (1975-1978, 2000-2021)
The top three finalists will be made public soon, with the fans being able to vote for this year's inductee. Julian Edelman, Mankins and Vinatieri were last year's finalists.

@PatsBuzz The difference in the Super Bowl was that the Seahawks continued to feed their guy the ball even after getting stuffed a couple of times, and the Patriots didn't.
English

@TheHall Of course before moving to Foxboro they never had a real true home stadium. They played at BU Field, Harvard and Fenway. 🏈🏈🏈
English

This is no joke! #OnThisDay in 1960, the Patriots announced that the Boston University Field would be their first home stadium. This program cover would eventually be created for their very first home game.

@ToddKrieger1 @FBGreatMoments Tarkenton THOUGHT (wrongly) that a Patriot did something... Sound familiar?
English

@FBGreatMoments The defender said or did something to Fran Tarkenton, and Tarkenton took exception to it...... Wasn't a celebration.
English

@MJRodnick There's no substitute for experience. Pats fans have been spoiled with tremendous QB's in their second year with the team: Grogan, Flutie, Bledsoe, Brady - and Maye.
English

@DumpFlyingElvis I'm with you, Robert. It was a big step from his rookie year. He had a chance to experience success and with talent around him. Time to improve on that. I think this draft we'll see more skilled positions around him.
English

Fascinating, the best quarterback of this century and the best quarterback of the 1990's playing for the same team in the same game.
If you want to trust Aikman, Young, Kelly, Elway, Marino, Moon or Favre to win a game you must win over Flutie in the 90's, good luck with that. You'll need it.

Former Patriots GM Inducted Into Eagles Hall of Fame si.com/nfl/patriots/o…
Bucko Kilroy absolutely, positively belongs in the Patriots Hall of Fame.

@ShnaggM @oldhockeycards And these are the peak Bruins uniforms of all time

Five Patriots Who Should Finally Be Inducted Into Team's HOF si.com/nfl/patriots/o…
Kudos for mentioning Russ Francis. An atrocity that he and several teammates were not inducted, recognized and celebrated when they were still with us, and they are more deserving than many put in ahead of them.
Perhaps you can try to convince the committee to commit to one of them, and get his name on the ballot:
Russ, Mosi Tatupu, or the most deserving of all:
Julius Adams.
You may be surprised at the fan voting results, as most were when Ray Clayborn made it.

The Worst Day In The History Of The New England Patriots: March 31, 1993
Andre Tippett and Pat (Patriot) Harlow are dressed like complete fools to introduce ridiculous replacement uniforms including a hideous new logo shoved down Patriots fans' and all New Englanders' throats by carpetbagger James Orthwein and NFL Properties.
A man walks up to Harlow and asks, "So, what do you think of the new look?"
Harlow's two word, accurate answer: "It sucks."
The man walks away, apparently flustered.
Coach Parcells walks over to Pat and asks, "What did you say to that guy?"
Harlow tells him. "Why? Who is he?"
Tuna responds, "He's the guy who designed it."

On this day in 1993, the #Patriots unveiled their new logo and uniform at a press conference at the Four Seasons. IN with the Flying Elvis, OUT with Pat Patriot (although Pat still comes out of retirement once a year). What are your Top 3 favorite sports uniform of all-time?

English

I can't speak for poor Broncos & Bucs fans, but the legion of Patriots fans who accept and like the flying elvis make me think that at the end of Soylent Green, after Charlton Heston shouts out the truth, half the people in New York say, "Yeah, so what? We love the taste. Those poor schmucks deserve to be processed for food."
English

First of all, you've led a much healthier life than I have the last 34 years not subjecting your eyes to that aesthetically abhorrent atrocity perpetrated by James Busch Orthwein, a guy with zero ties to New England who was planning on moving the team anyway. Unfortunately, Bob Kraft 'fell in love' with it before buying the team a month later.
English

@TataTom2509 @emmitonair OK fine we hated the Cowboys growing up because they won all the time.
But we never made up fake cheating allegations against them, they (like the Patriots) won fair and square.
