The US not only pays the most out of any country in the world for veteran disability compensation (by far) but is the ONLY country where you can receive the 100% disability compensation payments and work a full time job at the same time. This is insanity.

There is a guy I know: US vet who got full VA disability because he supposedly has some digestive issues. Spends all day farming and has a side business doing things like this. But he is "disabled" and gets a huge monthly payout every month. Another epic scam.

The problem NOW is that it does not matter if they served overseas, saw combat, broke a leg, whatever. Even if we were not at war the schemers would still leech with the current guidelines, conditions, and legislation. Found out, my wife's friend gets $4100 disability from the military, for PTSD... for her boss yelling at her. No joke. She was a lawyer (JAG) and said she suffered PTSD from getting yelled at so much, and it gave her tinnitus. That combo gets her "disabled veteran" status with 100% disability. The world is shit.

Yeah well here’s one: I will be somewhat vague for identity purpose. I know (very close) a couple that have 100% VA disability for both of them. They both get $11,000 combined. Both ARMY and both working for another 4 months until they purchase their new home in FL. Which after they close on said home will quit their jobs. The military has given them so much money to buy real estate, toys, luxury vacations and they openly say “it’s because they put their life on the line” working desk jobs. But, neither one of them has ever had active duty. He says he has a bad back, but can sling drywall, carry well over 100 pounds over his head and play pickleball/golf, etc. She says she had cancer (she did) years ago and was cleared with 💯remission. Her cancer was in her renal because anal sex is her go too and other variables of a not healthy lifestyle. They laugh while sitting on our back porch and claiming that they won’t know what to do with all this money and they can’t believe that they both got 100% disability. While my husband is 61 years old has worked since he’s been 15 and sits here at the age that he is, contemplating if he can even retire with what he will get.

Why isn't the military advertising that no matter the MOS, as long as you go through boot camp or basic training that you're essentially guaranteed $3500/mo+ in disability payments, free college, free healthcare, subsidized mortgages, etc. for a single ~4 year contract?
