Eastern Hokkaido is amazingly gorgeous with its breathtaking flower parks and gardens in spring. Higashimokoto Shibazakura Park is one of the most valued flower kingdoms, exploding with purple phlox subulata. [📹 Masami Shirai / 1min.traveller]

A lightbeam book's lightbeam is not a real light. It's literally a cardboard cutout inserted behind a see-through page, but it frames a nice optical illusion, not only for kids [📹 miterapiaconximena] x.com/i/status/15950…

@YardleyShooting @AllisterHeath I still don’t understand why companies like The Telegraph have not invented a system for micropayments 🤷‍♂️ I might like to read the article and would pay 1p,2p, 5p even but I’m not going to subscribe what a waste of a potential customer/ reader It’s 2025 let me click micro pay.

@Rainmaker1973 What this suggests is incredible. That water has memory which has been proven already and that simply writing something on a surface which is then saved inthe frozen water suggests anything we write or say and maybe even think has an effect on our surroundings 🤔👏 fantastic 🤯

@Rainmaker1973 "In the middle of a morning rush hour...." is the key phrase here. No one has time to stop for anything on the commute.

Joshua Bell, one of the finest talents in the classical music world, went once busking as an experiment. Music director of the Academy of St Martin in the Fields, worldwide star soloist, and former child prodigy. His instrument is a Stradivarius from 1713. In the middle of a morning rush hour, baseball-capped Joshua Bell opened his violin case and started playing, just inside L’Enfant Plaza Metro entrance in the busy centre of Washington DC. Over a period of 43 minutes, the violinist performed six classical pieces, two from Bach pieces, one Massenet, and one each from Schubert and Ponce. Out of 1,097 people that passed by Bell, 27 gave money, and only seven actually stopped and listened for any length of time. In total, Bell made $52.17 (£42.18). And this includes a $20 note from someone who recognised him. The next night Joshua Bell played on one of the most recognized stages in the world and charged at least $100 each ticket. The experiment somewhat proved that the extraordinary in an ordinary environment often does not shine, it is not recognized.
