Citi and the FT are highlighting how cross border RMB usage is rising with the Iran and this would give China a golden window to rapidly increase RMB usage and move material amount of trade away from USD and towards the RMB.
I want you to stop and think about why and what the implications of extending their logic is.
Their logic is RMB use has risen between China, Iran, and Russia so now is the time to put the RMB on a rocket ship. What is the obvious problem that anybody with two brain cells should be able to figure out? What do China, Iran, and Russia have in common? They are actively avoiding USD sanctions.
This isn't a blueprint to expand trade in a reserve currency this is a blueprint on how to run a criminal operation
