My sprite commission prices have updated! I'm not going to go into a detailed run-down here, but my website's blog (or archive under January 2022), and my Spritework Portfolio illustrate the changes (hover your cursor/tap and hold on a sprite)!

@ClarkCurton It's not DLSS (which requires engine level implementation), and this looks exactly like the SMAA that's present in Xenoblade Chronicles 2.
Having seen the befores from 2 on handheld, it's remarkably similar, just less intense.
Also, the technology credits only show SMAA.
English

@PJiggles_ Oh I'm sure. I've just never seen DLSS look THIS bad. I wish Switch 2 hacking was more advanced so people could datamine this and pick out where exactly they fucked everything up.
English

This makes me so sad man, please let this just be a one time flub and not the coming norm

I paid $5 to make my game look worse

@GamingAori @JoeMerrick A good method could be using a different space character around certain words. Mostly undetectable, but something you can search.
I've sometimes used the braille space character to add extra spaces on sites where they collapse spaces down to one.
English

@JoeMerrick I think you should do it like genius etc do with lyrics. Implement typos and small mistakes for finding them. It sucks, but well better than not figuring it out. Even when it should stay detectable through using the same words and such?

@AdrianTheCube @RuisuKurusu An open world game can add separate smaller open worlds as DLC. Skyrim did the same thing.
The core experience is open world with added smaller open areas as extra content. I feel that most would classify that as an open world still since the other maps are optional.
English

@RuisuKurusu A fun side quirk of this is that Pokémon Scarlet is an Open World Game.
However, the Pokemon Scarlet + Expansion Pass Bundle is not.
English

This may sound crazy to some people but my favorite open world game is Legends Arceus Pokémon
I put almost 600 hours into that game and I'm not even done because I still need like 40 shiny to complete the pokédex of shinies

GermanStrands@GermanStrands
What open-world game did you sink the most time into?

@SomethingBanter @MelvinProphete @_claypot That said, I do think Unown deserves to get a new set of grounded animations for every letter. Is that a lot of work for a trash Mon? Yes. Would it be fun seeing new ways for each letter to move beyond the floating? Also yes.
English

@SomethingBanter @MelvinProphete @_claypot In their defense, abilities didn't exist in Stadium 2. They just gave Mons the animations that they felt made sense. That said, the argument of, "It has Levitate, it should be in the air," is the one that led to ungrounded animations for Charizard being the default until now.

both colosseum and xd were made by a team composed mostly of people that did not know anything about pokemon and you can really tell, for better and worse

With Eevee as your companion, fight against an evil organization using Shadow Pokémon in Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness, available now on #NintendoSwitch2 with GameCube - Nintendo Classics for #NintendoSwitchOnline + Expansion Pack members.
English

@detectivemimi3 @Squerk_ Yeah, but idk, it was kinda slapdash and poorly implemented in the first place. Not a big loss beyond no Shadow Lugia export (but he couldn't make it into Gen 4, so that's kinda just how it is).
English

can’t wait for everybody that never played this as a kid to try it as an adult and realize how fucking terrible it is 😭😭😭

English

@detectivemimi3 @Squerk_ To be entirely fair, you couldn't even transfer in the original game. You could trade Mons in and out, but it was a trade and it was locked to the post-game.
English

@Squerk_ //yeah now i'm trying to play this right now and i am NOT enjoying myself
Doesn't even feel worth it if i can't transfer the pokemon i catch, that would give me a genuine reason to power through it but naur
English

@midfreewayfox That said, at the end of the day, it's really not important whether someone can or can't be a part of a fandom.
I think most people in this argument, except for those making the artistic one, are making a huge deal over effectively nothing.
English

@midfreewayfox Yeah, no allegory is perfect, unfortunately, but I do feel that an artform like film or games is the experience of all parts in tandem. Experiencing the parts split is inherently missing a piece of the bigger picture, though you can still enjoy the parts alone.
English

@midfreewayfox Yeah, I don't care for people fully invalidating people for those views. I didn't play WoW, but I spent a lot of time watching my brothers play back in the day. I have a lot of nostalgia for that time.
English

@DurchBurch "Cant be og FF fan because you werent holding the controller when you played the game"
English

@midfreewayfox At the same time, I really don't like vinegar. I rarely like a food with a high vinegar content, but I do like ketchup when paired with potatoes or most meats.
I'm not a fan of vinegar, but in the context of ketchup, it's quite nice.
English

@midfreewayfox It's kind of like food.
I love chocolate, steak, roasted broccoli, and lemonade, but the combination of them into one dish may be overwhelming and disjointed. I can't say I'm a fan of a food that I've only had ingredients of, but I can say I'm a fan of the ingredients.
English

@jokekyuki_ That said, I wholeheartedly think that someone whose engagement is only through the fandom (like fanfics/fanart) with little or no engagement to any piece of the game directly can start to become more of a meta fan-of the-fandom, so to speak, rather than a fan of the actual game.
English

@jokekyuki_ That said, they can't really provide major opinions on how those Monsters interact with people in game without having interacted with them in game.
The same thing can apply to all parts of games; music, environmental design, narrative, etc.
English

@OWAnonymous_ I think there's a chance they'll bring it back if they do another Mirrorwatch season.
English

This whole Meta Event with Talon vs Overwatch was actually really annoying. We could have had an interesting thing happen if Talon took Echo. Some stakes and consequences to keep the plot and conflict going. But nooo, we gotta keep things safe and the same. I hope future lore doesn’t hinge on community decisions because I can see the lore stagnating real quick from that.
