@BlackNinjaBob We have to be super careful about cutting the bread thin enough not to end up with black carbon for breakfast, to be sure. Ours has a proper three-level toast setting and all but we're still thinking about getting a toaster for the counter anyway.

I have an integrated fish grill in my kitchen in 🇯🇵 but I never use it because it seems to burn the sides, and leave the centre uncooked. Pretty sure there must be a technique that I don’t know. Anyone?

Seems like twice the size of friend’s dorm rooms I’ve seen in the 80s although I never lived in one myself. Part of the point is shared space I thought though, this might as well be separate rooms🤔

@ohazassu My in-laws left Tokyo for Ōmachi about seven years ago and we try to do as much of the summers as we can up there. Still ugly hot sunshine in the days but evening thunderstorms off the peaks and down to the 20º range at night is pretty livable.

@Durf You've just talked me into looking for a summer escape there. The summers here are about 10-15 degrees above my preferred temps.
