Another successful week of Mental Health Makerspace activities at Durgee. Today we made mind jars. To use: shake the jar, then concentrate on the glitter as it swirls then falls. Slow your breathing. Another full house, and lots of comments that this was their favorite so far.

We’re building a flag gallery at Durgee representing all the countries our students come from. We were outside fire proofing the flags when Viktoriia, Yadelsy and Suri walked buy — they were SOOO excited to see THEIR flags that we had to do an impromptu photo shoot. ❤️

We’re kicking off mental health month early with a new 6 week stress-busters series in the makerspace. It’s a great collab between the library, social worker, and psychologist. Today’s make were origami boxes which we learned how to use as worry boxes.

Had the best two days thanks to @buda_tonya’s Creating Legends ELA classes. We were in the studio recording original skits based on the Iliad. It was epic, and exactly the joy I needed this week. Their enthusiasm and energy was infectious. ❤️
