So many Tesla owners are still not aware that in the event of a collision, you can request telemetry data from the event, including video clips (when available from safety-critical incidents), accelerator/brake pedal position, steering angle and torque, and more. If you need to request the data, go to your Tesla app, then Menu > Account > Security & Privacy > Request Data. It’s something you hope never to need, but just in case, Tesla has your back.

Happy 96th birthday to Buzz Aldrin. One of the highlights of my life was meeting Buzz in NYC while he was judging the Popular Mechanics Breakthrough Awards—where he helped select Aptera. During an informal lunch at Hearst Tower, I introduced myself as CEO and asked if he’d like to see the car. He paused, looked at me, and said, “Is it here?” When I said yes—parked out front—he immediately stood up and headed for the elevator. I’m standing there thinking about Apollo and orbital mechanics (I’ve read his thesis), but in the elevator he wanted to talk about Aptera. Downstairs, security waved us through the crowd. Buzz climbed in, and I found myself kneeling beside him, explaining the instruments, design, and philosophy. I’ll never forget that gift. Happy Birthday, Buzz!!!

Wishing all the best to @TheRealBuzz on his 96th birthday. He has my deepest appreciation for the history he made and the standard he helped set. America will walk in his footsteps again soon.

@stevefambro Yes. That is a classic. My Dad had one when I was a kid. It did't heat up in Ontario winters very quickly, but it handled driving in the snow perfectly. It must be absolutely awesome to have the Aptera to drive every day now for testing. Does Chris have one too?

Two of my most favorite vehicles in the world! I began working on air-cooled Volkswagens when I was 15 at a local garage/gas station. Tune ups, new points, valve adjustments, oil changes. I did it all. The engineering of the beetle required to make maintenance tasks simple has always left an impression upon me. At least with Aptera mechanics, won’t have to worry about getting oil and gas on their body/clothes :-)

@stevefambro @realcaptmatt @Tesla BTW, 7kW charge rate is pretty decent at home. The Tesla mobile charger needs the 14-50 adapter at 240 Volts on a 32A circuit to get 7.6 kW. You get a lot more range per hour on the Aptera than my Cybertruck! 😄

I didn't expect you to. I just meant that the port on the back of your Aptera isn't the NACS you've shown on other occasions. I use a mobile charger (shop.tesla.com/en_ca/product/…) for my Cyberbeast to charge at home. I have a short daily commute so I only need the Supercharger network when I travel.
