@Ziegler_Dev 1 week on, 1 week off, now players aren't forced into such extreme decisions and you still get resets and a feeling of planning. There are so many better solutions at hand you gotta do something here.

FYI: Here's the current schedule for Cryo/Ranked. Cryo: Unlocks at 10 AM PT on Friday (first opens on Friday 3/20) Closes at 10 AM PT on Monday (first closes on Monday 3/23) Ranked: Unlocks at 10 AM PT on Saturday (first opens on Saturday 3/21) Closes at 10 AM PT on Tuesday (first closes on Tuesday 3/24) Once again, as we see and learn more we're open to iterating on the schedule in future updates. It's a terrible idea for Bungie to make this map available only on weekends; other than that, the map looks amazing.

@VivaLaDoctor Limited time availability is fine yeah, and they do have good reasons. It's just the time frame itself is fucked. Maybe a full week on/full week off situation would fit better. I'm just really kinda pissed that my best friend can't play the coolest part of the game

I’m not saying weekends is the right way to go about Cryo archives. I think there are a lot of different ways that you can make the map feel like an event and feel special and to not have queue times be an issue. I just know they want to make each queue feel full and the easiest way to do that is to time gate something. Hopefully they’ll experiment with implementing other ways to go about Cryo, because yeah, not allowing folks who work weekends to play It is definitely not the move. My initial post was mostly to address the knee jerk reactions. And say let’s consider why they did this. Because a lot of of what I was saying was folk saying that they’re retarded and they don’t know what they’re doing, etc. etc.. I think they had a vision for what they wanted Cryo archive to be, and they felt like this was the best way to achieve that vision. However, as we’ve seen, they are very much willing to change and evolve the game. let’s hope they do that here as well.

I get why folks would be upset at Cryo and ranked being weekend only. But let’s just step back and think a bit. With duos, and tomorrow cryo and ranked there will be 9 queues in the game. I can see Bungie being concerned with how these additional maps affect the queues.

The amount of people that physically cannot play Cryo Archive due to the time constraints and work issues is the most laughably easy thing to predict and I genuinely do not understand how this decision made it through to the live game. The game is so good do not fuck it up please

@Ziegler_Dev I am frankly dumbfounded that you are putting Ranked and Cyro on weekend only rotations at all. Please change this and do it sooner rather than later or the game is gonna have a hell of a time getting new players, even more so if they literally cannot engage with the best parts

Cryo and Ranked are coming and we're excited to see players battle it out over Tau Ceti and traverse into the big scary moon-like ship in the sky. We've put out a few posts about Cryo, poured through the variety of comments and feedback we've seen so far, and wanted to take some time to explain some of the initial decisions we've made around Cryo and Ranked with regards to weekend scheduling. So without further ado, here's what we have been thinking: We are of course always iterating and are open to looking at other options in the future, but the Ranked/Cryo Archive weekend decision is really built around three points: - Preparing: We acknowledge that players will lose a lot of gear on Cryo and Ranked because it is intended to challenge you to your limits. As a result of that, it's important that Cryo and Ranked feel like an event you can schedule towards, grind gear up to do, etc. The loop of spend time grinding gear to spend it in Cryo or Ranked is reflected in this choice as a weekly cycle. - Economy Talk: We have some great rewards on Cryo that kind of break the bank when it comes to economy and power gain. If we were to look at having it open all the time, we'd probably have to adjust how frequently you can earn these rewards so that we don't flood the game with amazing loot all of a sudden. - Logistics Time: Cryo and Ranked both have entry requirements (gear ante) that are built around the idea of you matching with other players on an equal investment level. They also both have a high level requirement to ensure you've experienced enough of the game to understand the challenges inherent to the game. This inherently makes the amount of people in that queue at any time unpredictable. Both of these experiences also need a consistent flow of players in the queue to make sure matches are full to retain the challenge. To reduce the match times and allow players to find matches quicker, making it a scheduled event means more players will show up during that window and feed the queue pool better. We also acknowledge that there are likely some who cannot participate on the weekend or are excited about the experience and want to no-life it for weeks, and we appreciate that. We'll be looking into what we can do to retain these considerations and potentially accommodate this in the future. Things we may iterate on in the future: - Staggering Ranked and Cryo queues more so they overlap less - Looking at changing the days we do either Cryo or Ranked - Changing the ante values of Cryo or Ranked - Looking at any other conditions (solo experience, crew fill experience, etc.) and iterating on it! Marathon is an evolving game and part of evolving is seeing how this initial launch plays out and adjusting as we go =). @asalisbury The only thing I don't know is why cryo and ranked are both weekend only. My friend literally cannot play on weekends so does he simply not get to play the coolest part of the game? I really hope this gets a genuine answer

Ranked was ok but cryo weekend only is just plain bad, @MarathonTheGame you better have some damn good reasons for this and state them publicly cause this is pure ass as of right now

@Gothalion Not a fan of ranked and cryo being weekend only at all either, one or the other sure but not both. Especially seeing as my buddy can mostly only play on weekdays....

Ranked being only weekends was fine. Pinnacle activity only being weekends kinda not as cool.

assassin in solos is boring to play and boring to play against imo would seriously like something done about it to make the game more engaging as a whole

@IFrostBolt Fragile keys are a pain yea, but opening the giant loot box should absolutely make a loud distinct noise. If your team can't handle securing an area and keeping lookout while looting, that's on you not the game

Hmm, good opportunity to start talking about keys. It’s dumb that key rooms bring you to rooms with shitty positioning, make a loud ass sound, and doesn’t let you interact with doors to close them. Ratting teams like this is funny, but it highkey will make people on both sides rat even harder. Key holders rat till 6min left on the raid (boring af), key pushers rat till they find an opportunity. We can atleast agree that fragile key mechanic is so BORING. Can’t get knocked? It promotes sitting on the edge of the map until you can leave the raid.

@isolatedrook If you don't see it as a full on exploit then there's something wrong with your brain at this point.

Enough with the 'skill issue' arguments. The entire game was designed with a certain pacing and movement in mind and this disrupts that in a very meaningful way. If you have to rely on exploits to win your fights, how am I the one with a skill issue?

Elitist Ro-an here, I think they need to implement a minimum loadout value for outpost. I think running gray sponsor kits on outpost should not be in the game. It cheapens the experience for everyone. Its supposed to be the map right before cryo archive. #marathonthegame
