Something to keep in mind for Andrew Painter. In Cole Hamels rookie season (age 22), after he threw 5 innings of shutout baseball in his debut, over his next 10 starts he pitched to a 6.57 ERA, allowed 10 HR, and 55 hits. He was also “untouchable” in trades and put on that pedestal just like Painter has. It just takes time.
