Something to keep in mind for Andrew Painter.
In Cole Hamels rookie season (age 22), after he threw 5 innings of shutout baseball in his debut, over his next 10 starts he pitched to a 6.57 ERA, allowed 10 HR, and 55 hits.
He was also “untouchable” in trades and put on that pedestal just like Painter has.
It just takes time.
@racketman45@KenDonnelly_@JackFritzWIP It’s not that big of a deal to me I was being sarcastic. You can like whoever you like I ain’t gonna judge. However I do know if you like Nola you aren’t a true Phillies fan. That goes for you and every other one of his jock sniffers.
@racketman45@KenDonnelly_@JackFritzWIP Because I don’t like Aaron Nola? That’s very un Christian like of you. I wish you weren’t a part of this fanbase because you sniff his jock. How’s that?
@Tonybps12@KenDonnelly_@JackFritzWIP I can’t gate keep anyone from anything, all I can do is express my wishes that you and fans like you weren’t part of this fanbase
@Tonybps12@JamesMSchwartz@racketman45@JackFritzWIP Nola was spectacular in Game 2 vs. Arizona. Threw 6 innings of shutout ball.
He gave up 4 ER in 4.1 IP in Game 6, but got little run support.
The Phils' impotent offense in Games 6 and 7, at home no less, was the main reason they lost that series, not Nola.
@JackFritzWIP@Tonybps12 *was
And even in his prime, he still alternated between Ace and not-so-great every other season. But I’m staying optimistic about Painter and would be happy with him being the next Nola.
@racketman45@Tonybps12@JackFritzWIP Agreed. He doesn’t understand baseball if he thinks he’s only had two solid years. Haha just pure insanity. Have to pray for those types of people.
