@EricTilbury_RTB Do you think its viable to automate surfacing this information into existing workflows? So it can't be forgotten or missed.

I urge you all, please, to regularly pull reports using ads.txt and sellers.json. You should absolutely know what percentage of your buy is authorized direct versus unauthorized versus reseller, and exactly who is selling you what. If you do have unauthorized or even reseller purchasing going on, you should know exactly why you are buying that. Blindly buying unauthorized and reseller inventory will burn your budget. Not enough people say this often enough. I love this industry, and I want to see it thrive. It only thrives with trust, and that trust comes with better performance, and that better performance comes with better buying habits. Please, hear me out.

A fun thought experiment... if Google were to carve out its adblocking revenue as a separate business, it would be one of the largest adtech companies This is true for much of what they do just cos the numbers are so large. But, the difference here is how insulated they are from adblocking compared to everybody else.

@DustinCha_ as someone who has worked to help ad blocking companies monetize in the past, the eCPMs necessary to make that number reasonable absolutely were realistic.

Adblock Plus claims to have blocked 200 trillion ads. At $1 CPM, that's $200BN.

It takes 28 seconds to install adblocking on Android This method blocks ads across browsers and apps, defunding content that depends upon traditional third-party provided adtech. What's impacted: • Publications - news, blogs, trade journals, wikis, etc • Utility tools • Games

Adblockers are gradually spreading beyond desktop and mobile. In this case, to VR. Article 👉 lnkd.in/gsJGXzyk

Do adblockers use AI to block ads? Yes and no... Yes: it's used to augment existing workflows (updating and maintaining filter lists that humans manage) No: it's not running the show (automatically detecting and blocking ads independently) ad-shield.io/blog/do-adbloc…

Just 11.86% said they DID NOT use an adblocker on their phone. The poll was conducted on Android Authority. The audience skews "tech-savvy" so you would expect adblocking usage to skew higher than average. But still, didn't expect it to be that level. Even accounting for self-selection bias.

@aripap Yeah, I think their definition of websites loading includes all content that is available to load (including ads for non blocking), giving an indication of the delay you highlighted

@DustinCha_ On websites it’s usually multi threaded and non blocking so not really accurate. But for video, certainly.

Lately I've been spending time on news websites and the ads are SLOW. Here are screenshots of 3 totally random sites loading -- I waited about ~1 second before taking these shots and the ads hadn't loaded. This was not scientific, it was the first three sites I visited.

Adblocking 2.0 is here. Publishers are not prepared. I sat down with Vijay Kumar on 𝘞𝘦𝘣 𝘞𝘪𝘵𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘞𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘴 and dove into how the adblocking landscape has completely transformed in recent years. Spoilers? • Adblocking traffic has grown 6X, but the industry missed it • 79% is dark traffic — hidden from analytics, unmonetized • IT-level adblocking has been a major growth driver of dark traffic Full episode here: #listen-podcast" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">mile.tech/podcast/hidden…

This is ingenious. taiv.tv installs a box between cable feed and TVs in bars/restos. The box detects commercial breaks and swaps in Taiv sold local or brand ads. Is it Gator 2.0? or an automated channel changer? what do broadcasters think? @aripap @AdtechGod

@BradAT Across this and adblocking, etc, it's astonishing how society seems to have an "open country" policy on pillaging publisher content

@JamesHercher, I was just using Ari's new tool and found your article from back in 2017: adexchanger.com/online-adverti… Remarkably prescient. Fast-forward to 2025, a lot of what you mention here played out. The adblocking ecosystem has turned upside down.
