there was a guy I had been seeing for 5 months… We had plans to make dinner and watch a movie at his house. So I wore yoga pants. A few days later he said we needed to “talk”… He told me wearing yoga pants to watch a movie was inappropriate because I wasn’t acting serious. That I should have worn jeans and high heels. Then proceeded to tell me I also don’t look GOOD in yoga pants??? So I remembered I didn’t want to see him anymore and stopped talking to him lol

I got into a car accident on Saturday. I’m fine. The other person is fine, but I wanted to share the lesson in it all. In the morning, I made my intentions for the day. Everything was going well, and I was in flow with the way I imagined my day would go, then I got sidetracked by a ruminating thought in addition to a wish to stop somewhere that was not intended. Basically, I wasn’t driving. I’m not even sure how we hit each other. The other driver doesn’t know either as we both didn’t “see” each other. He was in a rush to work and somehow my front left side collided with his left back side and burst his tire. My car is fucked up. Like the steering wheel is sideways to go straight fucked up and makes crunching sounds, so I had it towed. Other driver doesn’t speak English, so he calls an interpreter. He’s apologizing. I’m apologizing. We hug. Such a beautiful moment. Then I notice his rims and tires on his car some more. A mid-90s model car. A starter car, but he was clearly in love with it. He had little skulls on the air caps for the tires. Custom striping. The thing was a hot mess, but it was his mess and he loves it. When he first got out of the car, he kissed her. I like to think of cars as “her”. I gave him my insurance but asked if I could just pay for his tire and fix his car. Given he thinks he’s guilty, he says he will change the tire himself and wonders if I can help him with a day of lost wages. I say sure. It’s the least I can do, as I think this is my fault. Even if it wasn’t, this guy was so sweet, anyone would help him. It was an expensive set of lessons, but boy did I learn many things. Afterwards my adrenaline was running and I felt so guilty and bad. I took the whole thing into my body for him and for me, but we were both safe. The cars are just things and they bent for us. We can fix and restore this situation and our faith in humans at the same time. I was going to head back home and crawl back into bed and pretend like the whole day didn’t happen. It never feels good to fuck up like that. But, I realized any new emotional responses past that point would be theater. I had to stick to my original plan and finish my intentions. That’s where something magical happened. I went to a book store I volunteer at and the owner handed me a book on Tarot and he said “you will need this today” and two minutes later, a man I met in a bar in NYC in January who I’ve only exchanged two texts with about St. Germaine, sends me a tarot card spread and says that he doesn’t know why he’s sending it, but he is. I ask the bookstore owner what it means and he says “read the book”. I’d like to post the photo but I feel like I’m not supposed to ask anyone else what it is all about? Anyway, I’ve noticed that when we realize all suffering and hardship as lessons, weird synchronicities like this happen. Anyone else having things like this occur in their lives?

My mother who adopted me, Karin, is fixing up her home in Belgium and she sent me a photo of what her indoor patio is going to look like and I’m speechless. She’s an antique dealer/collector and these are probably the most beautiful pieces I’ve seen of hers.

My apologies. Thanks to a ferocious head cold which has gone on to my chest, giving me an epic cough & a voice like an elderly toad, I am stuck in bed & unable to appear at the ‘West End Does: Christmas’ concerts tomorrow. I was so looking forward to joining the amazing cast. I know the concerts will be terrific anyway, as they always are.
