If #TeamGP don’t vote NO to the new contract. GP is over! You might have employment, but like pharmacists, you’ll be in Tesco at 10pm Apathy & negativity won’t fix it. The future is either Pharmacy working for big corporations or Dentistry / private but working for big business

6300 Neighbourhood Health Centres already in walking distance of 90% of the population Cost to bring hospital to community just 1.5% of NHS budget £50 per patient per year Yet @wesstreeting doesn’t want to do it instead it’s 43 centres rather than investing in GP practices

Jeremy Hunt ruined the NHS, oversaw yrs of historically low funding increases~1% Compared with 6% 1997-2010 And 4.3% advised by the OBR He finished it off by refusing to pay staff & fund GP Practices Wes Streeting isn’t doing enough to fix it sadly opendemocracy.net/en/jeremy-hunt…

It used to be one GP for every 3 hospital Doctors GPs are providing 20% more appointments than 2019 Doing more Advice and Guidance work for the hospitals Yet still hospitals are struggling to even keep up with referrals Vote NO to new GP contract - it’s 💩

Compulsory Advice and Guidance Mandated open access @NHSEngland @wesstreeting That’s it! GPs are done! Can’t do this any more! As a GP of 30years I will continue to advocate for patients, refer patients appropriately & do what I can BUT THIS IS THE FINAL STRAW @LaylaMoran

Compulsory Advice and guidance… Get stuffed . As an experienced GP ,if i need advice i will ask,if not i won’t. There you go. If the trust refuses to see patient then my advocacy means i will do WHATEVER is necessary , local MP/local/national press.

@BBCHughPym Hi Hugh I know I’m a bit of a pest but if you look at hospital activity and referrals you will see that there isn’t an increase in activity This should peek your interest as to why cuts to lists are the main reason for a drop in the waiting list public.tableau.com/app/profile/en…

GPs don’t want this Hospital consultants don’t want this It creates more work, devalues GP consultations and makes the system inefficient - likely leading to unnecessary comms and consultations
The BMJ@bmj_latest

New rules requiring GPs in England to seek remote specialist advice for every referral they make into selected specialties are putting patients at risk, general practice leaders warn bmj.com/content/392/bm…

@DHSCgovuk @sammons_pamela @wesstreeting OK let’s have a look at this properly Less activity but waiting lists falling means one thing Cutting people from the waiting list not treating them, and less referrals

Our practice flooded last night. The team sprung into action, including managers on site in the small hours, GPs clearing up the mess, contingency plans put in place. This all happened because we’re a small team with skin in the game. Ditch partnerships and none of this would happen. The call-outs, damage and work to keep as much going as possible didn’t cost the NHS a penny. Partnerships are worth more than @wesstreeting has any idea about.

@jackiescoones @DrSteveTaylor @DrHWazir @BMA_GP Errr. Nobody…. And this isn’t a scheme, it’s the national contract that is being imposed by the government from April-so will affect all GPs and all patients who don’t have a private GP/private healthcare

I’ve voted in the @BMA_GP referendum - I’ve said no to an unsafe and imposed contract by the government. Unlimited uncapped access via eConsultation.. loss of being able to refer to a specialist.. how is this safe for patients or GPs?
General Practice@BMA_GP

Vote now to have your say on the 2026/27 GP contract which is being imposed on GP practices in England. GPs are being asked to do more and more, list sizes and GP-to-patient ratios are expanding while continuity of care is shrinking.

My heart breaks to read what is being done with the imposed new GP contract. I have worked decades in the NHS and have never seen or heard GPs being treated in this manner. Dr Steve Taylor thank you for highlighting what it means on the ground for GPs and their teams and for patients...... like me.
Dr Steve Taylor@DrSteveTaylor

This year @wesstreeting imposed a new GP contract Provided an extra £1.50 to uncap the number of calls or requests per day & stand by the phone or computer And if the job isn’t completed within 24hours the GP will be sanctioned Job specifications below - can’t see a problem🤷🏻‍♂️

@DrSteveTaylor @DrHWazir @BMA_GP This contract, as I understand it, is nothing short of outrageous. Our GP's have systematically been undermined by this and previous Gvt's hell bent on privatisation. Not allowing GP referrals to Consultants is putting patients at risk and removing decision making from Doctors.
