Hmm @ESLCS Challenger League South America looking rough right now. From the 20 games there were: 14 matches forfeited and only 6 actually played/playing Yet ESL puts a $17.500 prize tag on this competition What exactly are we rewarding here? Is there a chance needed IDK? :/

April 1st 10:00 CET: Update on the American Major qualification -> "Liquid is still in danger.." --------------------- TLDR for Liquids situation as it is on most people's minds : -It looks like the key for Liquid is that Gaimin Gladiators will not place top 3 in Circuit X and overtake them. -This because BESTIA or Passion UA most likely will mutually exclude each other from overtaking Liquid (due to both being in Riga) --------------------- Below a deeper analysis for those interested who don't mind reading(😉!!) : After an eventful day yesterday with an early exit to Liquid in DraculaN, M80 and Passion UA still alive and BESTIA doing well in PCC3, let's assess the AM situation before the BetBoom Circuit X LAN starts in Brazil. Below the AM standing before today. Liquid is marked with blue as the team we will focus on, assuming they will be right on the edge of qualification. Comments on the standing: - NRG, M80* and Sharks are safe ✅ - MIBR should be safe to end above Liquid. In some scenarios Liquid get very close (a few points), but they stay just above. I can't say 100% sure though that there is not a scenario where they end up not qualifying. This would be dropping just below Liquid and Gaimin + BESTIA/Passion UA overtaking them. If they don't end below Liquid they are safe. - Liquid is done playing and will be hoping that 2 of 3 teams below them still in contention will stay below. - Gaimin Gladiators can overtake Liquid, but it looks like it would take a 3rd place finish in Circuit X which have pretty strong teams. I won't pretend to be an expert on the chance of this. - Passion UA have a good chance to get past Liquid into major invite range. They need to win the small Riga LAN where BESTIA is then the toughest opponent. On top of that they just need to win over Sashi to take over Liquid. If Passion actually won DraculaN result in Riga would matter less, but Aurora is likely to be in their way in the Lower final. Crazier things have happened though.. - BESTIA could also overtake Liquid, but it requires that they win over 3DMAX/B8 in PCC3. They could also win in Riga, but if they win Riga, then Passion UA won't and will likely then not overtake Liquid. - Only if Passion UA go really deep in DraculaN and BESTIA win over 3DMAX/B8 in PCC3 will both be able to overtake Liquid and push Liquid out of Major invite range. Liquid fans will be watching out for BESTIA, Passion UA and Gaimin Gladiators to lose costly matches. They need 2 of 3 teams to make mistakes to survive. As long as these 3 teams win matches Liquid will edge closer to the disaster. * (M80 plays a french LAN where they can theoretically lose costly matches, but it's bo3 and teams are completely unknown. Should be easy win in the event and they will gain LAN win points so can't see a world where M80 drops into danger, but theoretically they could)
