@MaizeingPete Half of each. Still picking best varieties first. Xtend better/easier weed control. Enlist nice on early maturity soybeans going into winter wheat. No horsetail on early soybeans makes easier harvest.

@farmerschneck I never mentioned tw. I said there is a healthy balance between kernel weight and kernel count on a cob. The top kernel weight or top kernel count in a plot doesn’t necessarily mean highest yield.

@Dutchbern But I don't agree with your premise. Kernel weight explains far more about yield than tw or kernel counts.

Test weight above 66kg/hL is pretty irrelevant. This 74 has an 89000k/bu weight. The lightest test weight we had was 65kg/hL which had an 83000k/bu weight. The worst corn we grew this year had 73kg/hL test weight and 103000k/bu weight. #ontag

@Beaudrybilly I run an i2231 in fall on corn residue and then in spring normally run two passes in spring. First warms up soil then find second pass makes a perfect seedbed. This is also the seedbed setup for notill winter wheat in fall. All residue stays out of seedzone

Any salford VT users on X? Thinking of getting a I2224. Tilled ground gave me better yields for the last 3 yrs in beans which wasn’t the case before. Would like to do one pass before planting beans and maybe after corn harvest the fall before. Anything I should know?

@KeithWells6 @k_lyons55 Honestly I would prefer more speed cameras so law enforcement can take care of much bigger problems such as having programs that stop all vehicles randomly to make sure they have a proper license and insurance. The only thing is cameras give out tickets just like an officer does

@farmerschneck So far so good with both programs but I am not a fan of two programs. Barely any fleabane in my fields because I have been using herbicides in corn to prevent escapes. The lingering smell is my biggest complaint with Enlist.

@mark_slapinski They came here and accepted the terms under what a student visa meant. They need to go back to their country and reapply for permanent residency.
