The number of malignant narcissists/psychopaths masquerading on social media platforms as high profile domestic violence advocates, psychology experts in well-being and narcissistic recovery, victims of narcissists, heroes for those that have been harmed, coercive control experts, is extraordinarily high. How can you tell the masqueraders? 1. Left right facial hemisphere asymmetry which is very specific. This is a huge red flag and is not always obvious in all images but if you see it once it’s a substantial indicator. Hiding part of their face with the hair or face turned to the side in photos to hide this or having photos taken from a distance. 2. They often have a smarminess about them, a smugness. It’s very subtle but obvious when you understand it. It’s borne from entitlement and a sense of arrogance at fooling people. 3. Copying people’s mannerisms, dress, language, approach, stories. 4. Claiming that narcissism is on a spectrum. It’s not. Who stands to win if people are on a scale of narcissism? Narcissists. You can’t actually be one, you only have degrees of some of their characteristics. 5. Human predators ‘subtly seethe’ in relation to those they supposedly have been harmed by. True victims of predators may be angry, very angry, deeply sad, hurt, resentful. Predators have an edge, a resentment which is not quite the same. There are a heap more. This is a start though.
