Excited about this project I’ve been working on about how to lose weight / stay on track as a poker player whether you’re a live cash grinder, traveling the circuit, or play online at home. Gonna give away the exact strategies that I’ve given my clients. It’ll be free.

We are looking for some poker reporters who are available for freelance gigs. If that is you, please get in touch. Reporting on live events, day rate, but the day rate will not suck. If we can't pay you well, we won't take the gig in the first place.

Poker can slowly mess with your identity if you’re not careful. Some days I’m not sure if I’m building resilience or just learning how to ignore my own discomfort. If you’ve ever questioned why you play, or who you’re becoming through this game I’d genuinely love to hear how you navigated it.

Most players think improvement looks like: Play → Study → Play What actually works is: Play → Review → Diagnose → Train → Re-apply Miss the middle steps and progress becomes guesswork. If this feels familiar, reply TRAIN.

Brought em down to one final building in this 4v4 on yesterday's stream and it came down to a final attempt to take that building out to win the game.

Dropping $5k on the floor made him $700,000. This is Tony Dunst. You know him best for his commentary on the @WPT. But did you know he's also cashed for $5,729,842 and just won his 4th WSOP bracelet last week? Whether it's in the booth or on the felt, @TonyDunstTV is (usually) the best dressed man in the room. But it hasn't always been smooth sailing. Join us for episode 100 of the Table 1 Podcast to learn: 🎙 How Tony went from deep in makeup to hair & makeup on the WPT 🧳 The insane story of getting banned from Australia (and why it's still his favorite place on Earth) ♠️ How "not taking it seriously" resulted in a breakout 2016 (that started in the video below). Special shout out to @MikeMcDonald89's always sharp investment skills. Thanks for sharing your story with us Tony!

A couple people asked how poker has been going lately, because I haven't posted much: When Cero started to get really sick a few years ago and it was clear the end was coming I got really depressed and not much was making me feel happy. The joy I got from poker and honestly anything was gone. For a while I just played Sundays, or an occasional live series, and then increasingly not even that. After he died I was really really sad. (One year ago now, on my birthday which was last week.) I wanted to play even less, and felt like my spark was gone. In the last 3 years I've played less than 10% of a full schedule, when I have played, I played small. When playing online I mostly zoned out and played a half-assed auto pilot version of my game, too many tables, timing out everywhere, not thinking about spots. I even stopped sharing any results even on IG stories, feeling like if it wasn't an outright win and at least 5 figures it wasn't even worth mentioning. That's why there have been almost no posts about poker or frankly much of anything. I've been playing full time almost 10 years now, the first 5 in live cash: I remember being so in love with the game there were several years where I would wake up in the evening, play all night until sunrise, get breakfast, sleep, and do it again with maybe 5 days off in a year - literally. I loved it. Couldn't get enough. Filled every waking hour. Eat, sleep, poker, that was it. So after recent years I started to wonder if maybe I'm just done. Something clicked this week, and yesterday was the first day in a long time I was extremely fired up to play. I played a ton of tables but I was focused and was managing to consciously think about spots, and timed out maybe once the whole day. I'm not trying to make a big speech like I won the Main Event or anything, but considering my abi yesterday was probably just over $100, and it was the first time in years I felt that old excitement to play, pretty happy being up $100k on the day. I think these things (the excitement and results) are directly related - at least as much as they can be outside of random chance. I don't know, maybe some of you can relate. Feel like I have a little spark and see light in the tunnel for the first time in a while. ❤️

@remodemo They need so much more, as an ud main I don’t have fun in any match-up other than mirror now, I’ve just stopped playing as much. Each of the last 4-5 patches has made ud less fun to play

@tonydunsttv @abarber1 Thanks for sharing, it helps to understand what’s happening and why, but doesn’t make me feel any better about what’s happening or any more optimistic for the future…it does make me want to cut screen time and read more though…
