@Chudw1ck1 @TheCartoonLoon the thing is, an artist does not use AI as a tool, in any case, takes an image as inspiration (rarely) to actually produce something themselves. If someone posts an edited AI generated picture that is just slightly modified it still has no effort behind it.

@Dynko_draws @TheCartoonLoon Ai isnt necessarily just a shortcut. I think a lot of the people currently using ai to make art do use it as a shortcut, but if a good artist uses it as a tool to make art it's not a bad thing.

If you want credit for working hard, pick up a pencil and put the time in the chair to earn that feeling "But I suck" everyone sucks when we start. "But Im not talented" no one is. What you call talent is earned through lonely hours of training and practice, like all skills.

Me encantaría, pero soy ama de casa, trabajo y escribo. Lo que ustedes los artistas no entienden es que no todo el mundo tiene el tiempo ni la motivación para dibujar. Dibujar es un pasatiempo, y el que a ustedes les guste, no significa que otros tengan que... Ustedes invertirían tiempo en aprender un nuevo idioma? En escribir un libro? En aprender a cocinar? Pues yo si estoy aprendiendo aleman, estoy estudiando recetas y tengo ya 4 libros escritos. Aun faltan 8 mas. Olvidan que todos tenemos gustos distintos, y el decir "agarra un lapiz" parte de una opinion sesgada por sus propias motivaciones, que ignora los gustos y por sobre todo, el TIEMPO LIBRE de los demas. Agarro un lapiz cuando los que me digan "agarra un lapiz" escriban 1 libro, almenos. No tengo tiempo para dibujar, como ustedes no lo tienen para escribir. Pueden dejar de meterse en la vida de los demas, porfi? 🦌❤️

@Dynko_draws actually this is a common misconception, what you are seeing is the top 0.1% of people with these disabilities and the mental capacity and drive to over come. most are simply locked out because of these barriers and will never be able to create their dream

Sure buddy, if Art started with an Idea Art would be worthless, since EVERYONE HAS IDEAS ALL THE TIME. (some really bad ideas such as yours) Art is about expression through method and skill of said ideas...

@Bandit00013 The difference between tools and AI is the lack of effort, that wich makes art valuable to us as a whole Im a digital artist, i use Krita, an open source program that allows me to draw, but it doesn't draw for me, i have to learn anatomy, color theory, shapes and actually DO art

@Dynko_draws some may be bad, but there are so many beautiful idea some people are unable to express with the tools available because of physical or mental barriers. is it so different from the traditional mediums of art becoming digital, making those tools in many way more inclusive to folx?

@f3nr1r04 @BaggsDaddy @TheCartoonLoon the fact that artists are not paid a Salary but instead a fee based on each work done makes this behavior even more pathetic. As i said before, money-people don't think about the implications of AI as a whole, they just see a way to make cheap stuff even cheaper for no reason.

@Chudw1ck1 @TheCartoonLoon The problem is that there is no effort value behind a picture made by AI no matter how "good" it looks. "AI Artists" are taking shortcuts to be praised by a talent they did not develop and demand respect by who they're not.

@TheCartoonLoon What if the art looks good tho? Like im super anti ai when it comes to a lot of different things, but i think if someone uses it as a tool to make cool art; i dont really see the issue. There’s definitely a lot of terrible ai art, but ive seen some cool shit imo.

Its oddly inefficient to use the most expensive and complex technology of today for stupid stuff that anyone could do by themselves or just pay someone to do it.

This shit gets so fucking tiresome and obnoxious. The weirdest part about it though is that it’s mostly progressives who are adamantly anti-AI. In other words, the cultural movement that prides themselves in pushing society toward scientific and technological growth… is demanding that we all REGRESS and steer away from technological growth.
