@volcaholic1 You lasted decades in Africa and India without complaining, why is it a crisis now?

This kind of heat would be extreme in the UK even in the middle of summer, never mind May. Kew Gardens has provisionally hit 34.8°C today, making it the hottest May day ever recorded in the UK and smashing the previous record by around 2°C. But apparently we’re all just “overreacting” again.

The deniers or every human on earth who uses rare earth minerals and fossil fuels? I’ll skip the fact you posted this on a platform that utilizes all these things. If you want to start the revolution, feel free to to roam the streets in a burlap sack with a sign of your message made of hemp before you return to your animal skin tent.

@PGDynes You had no issues with those temperatures while you were pillaging India and Africa. Grow a set man and enjoy the tan.

If England can hit 35°C in May in 2026, imagine July 2036. The concerning part isn’t just the heat itself…it’s that little or no serious planning is being put in place for what’s coming. Cities, housing, schools, healthcare, infrastructure… all dangerously unprepared.
Peter Dynes@PGDynes

Large parts of the UK/France are forecast to be around 12°C above average. Places like London could reach 35°C with UHI and it’s still May. The UK Climate Committee has warned that 40°C summers are now on the horizon. The climate is changing faster than systems are prepared for.

🇮🇹 2 aid workers returned to Italy from Uganda last week with symptoms consistent with Ebola. Europe held its breath. Tests came back negative. False alarm. But the DRC outbreak that triggered the scare is very real. 900+ cases, 234 deaths, and no vaccine for this strain exists yet. Europe got lucky, but they are surely paying attention now. 🇨🇩🇺🇬 Ebola is spreading through the DRC and Uganda. 900 suspected cases. 216 dead. No vaccine. No specific treatment. Already reached both Kinshasa and Kampala. The WHO declared a global emergency and the US imposed travel restrictions. It was spreading for weeks before anyone officially reported it. The Middle East is on every screen. This isn't.

Canada is no longer treating the Ebola outbreak as a distant regional event. Enhanced airport screening is now active. Quarantine officers have been deployed. Travelers from affected regions are being flagged for assessment.

Steff Gaulter, "May used to have a maximum temperature of 32.8°C" "Yesterday we surpassed that and got to 34.8°C" "The Met Office are saying there's a 60% chance we could even get to 36°C" Climate Change in action. More renewables please 🙏

🚨BREAKING: There is NO water in The Rio Grande?! I’m standing here in New Mexico and the river is completely DRY. Nearby AI data centers are consuming massive amounts of water to keep their systems cool. Meta’s Los Lunas facility alone has reportedly been tied to roughly 75 million gallons of water usage per year connected to Rio Grande resources and it’s only ONE of many projects expanding across the state. People can argue over the exact numbers, but one thing is undeniable… these facilities require enormous amounts of water and there are more data centers across the country being built as we speak. This is starting to look like an environmental disaster in plain sight. We need to put pressure on local representatives and the President to examine this environmental crisis before it’s too late.

@1goodtern The empire that conquered the world is now done in by 30 degree heat. I’m assuming Africa and India wish that was the case a few centuries ago.

@guyfelicella So instead of smart fiscal governance, high paying jobs and lower immigration rates to stabilize housing, we need to eat old food gifted to us by business? Or are you supporting the former as well?

But Quebec didn’t actually separate. They have their own policies, social programs and tax structure but they’re still part of Canada. And they weren’t trying to give the USA our natural resources either like Danielle Smith is with our oil.
YEGWAVE@yegwave

Bloc Québécois House Leader Christine Normandin says Albertans alone should decide their future in Canada, just as Quebecers alone decide Quebec’s. She adds the federal government should not have any role in a vote or the wording of the question.

@TroyWestwood They measure them like field goals, it’s like thinking you’re a good kicker hitting a 29 yarder early in a Grey cup then missing from 38, 41 and 53 while costing your team the game because of it.
