EAPP SG & team are in Japan for #TICAD9 through invitation by @jica_direct_en. Africa power pools toured technical sites, gaining key insights on Japan’s energy infrastructure, regional trasmission operations & power markets.

Delighted to host SAPP CEO Steven Diwa & team for a 2-day coordination meeting. With progress made on the Tanzania-Zambia interconnector, SAPP–EAPP integration is within reach! These talks are vital to ready the two regions for Day Zero of a unified power market!

The EAPP SG and delegates were hosted in Cairo by the new EAPP Steering Committee Chair, Eng. Gaber Desouki, Chairman of @EEHCSM, for a consultation meeting. Talks focused on key issues around Market, Operations, and Planning for the EAPP.

Uganda's State Minister for Energy, Hon. Okaasai Opolot, today opened the 32nd EAPP Steering Committee meeting in Kampala. High on the agenda is reviewing progress and outlining next steps for operationalising the regional power market.

IN MEMORIAM: We mourn the loss of former EAPP Secretary General Eng. Lebbi Changullah (March 27, 1955– March 25, 2025). His visionary leadership from 2015-2023 laid the foundation for the advancements we are making to ensure regional energy security. Our deepest condolences.

RIGHT NOW: An evaluation team comprising members of EAPP Finance Working Group are opening bids for the settlement bank that will execute transactions for the EAPP Market Operator. We thank all bidders for their interest and wish you good luck in the evaluation process!

We were pleased to host a team from @WBG_Energy Women in Energy Network-Africa, who are driving women's participation in the energy & power sector. EAPP looks forward to supporting this cause as a strategic partner, bringing the gender agenda to all member utilities & partners.

Set to go! Consultant @EnerwebOfficial today handed over the fully developed Market Trading Platform after successful completion of Site Acceptance Tests with the ICT task team at the General Secretariat in Addis Ababa. The MTP is now ready for dry runs by traders! #PowerMarket

Farewell to Ephrem Tesfaye! After a decade of dedication in setting up the Independent Regulatory Board of the @EAPowerPool, he now heads to Kampala as the IRB Director of Economic Regulation. EAPP proudly celebrates his contributions & wishes him success in this next chapter!
