Whenever I have paper to throw away, I make sure to recycle it! It’s nice a lot of our work is now technology since paper is the greatest component (by volume) that fills a landfill. #APESwaste@franklinlorax
@FranklinSabers Happy Earth Day! I make sure to not only use a reusable cup, but also use metal straws. This limits the plastic going places like the ocean which harms wildlife! #GainFHSAPES
The ozone layer protects us from UV Radiation. Another form of protection from UV Radiation is sunscreen. In summertime we all should wear SPF in order to lower our risk of skin cancer! @franklinlorax#apesair
When we drive, our cars emit gases like NOx, which pollutes our air. This is seen as anthropogenic because it is human caused. With quarantine, we are all driving a lot less which is helping our air quality! @franklinlorax#apesair
My car I drive has TSI which stands for turbocharged stratified injection, this technology offers low emissions, it cuts the fuel consumption and CO2 emissions, so it has a smaller impact on the environment resulting in better air quality. #apesair@franklinlorax
@rajkovic_marko@franklinlorax this is a great idea, especially with what we learned from the lab we did in class testing how much money we still pay when things are plugged in! I should do this more often. #apesenergy@franklinlorax
As you can see my fan is not on right now, when it’s not necessary to have my fan on, I keep it off. Keeping it on, especially when I’m not home, could be more wasteful then beneficial. This is a great way to save energy! #apesenergy@franklinlorax
Many things in my house are made from wood including the majority of the items in my room. This is a similar case to many other people. Having all of these wood items makes humans log which takes a lot of forestry to sustain the bussiness. #Apesland@franklinlorax
My dining room table is made out of pine wood. Lumber is used most for construction materials to make things such as paper and furniture like this. Wood is also used for many other things that we use in everyday life. @franklinlorax#apesland
@rajkovic_marko@franklinlorax it’s interesting to compare different types of materials together and see which have larger pore spaces allowing more water through vs. smaller pore spaces not allowing as much through. that lab was interesting to me!
These rocks have a high porosity and permeability due to how large they are compared to other materials like sand or soil. However, they have a lower water retention compared to those materials so when this snow melts the water will go straight through! #apesland@franklinlorax
@AH511299apes@franklinlorax That is crazy! Although many people will not all become vegetarians it would still help if people tried to implement some vegetarian meals into their diets! Great job Alyssa @franklinlorax#apespop
@Regan83232451@franklinlorax Some of the smallest things we don't even think about can make such a difference! Carpooling, eating a couple vegetarian meals, turning off your lights when you leave, all can make the biggest differences! Great Job @franklinlorax#apespop
in order to reduce my ecological foot print, i carpool with many friends to go places so we don’t have to take multiple cars. this reduces the amount of CO2 emissions. by car pooling, we can reduce our ecological foot print and CO2 emissions! @franklinlorax#apespop
When I took the ECO Footprint quiz it said if everyone lived the way I did we would all need 4.5 🌎 for resources. I pledged to at least make a vegetation meal once a month and try for once a week. Here’s a pic of a smoothie bowl and a fresh juice. #apespop@franklinlorax
This is my dog henry. Dogs are an example of K-Strategists, which means less offspring produced but more care. Being cared for at young ages results in longer lifespans, and better protection&nurture from their mother.I’m glad henry was cared for as a pup @franklinlorax#apeseco
